Bill Clinton says Bush erred by giving Saddam priority over bin Laden
Boston Globe (AP) ^ | 5/11/2004 | RICHARD PYLE

NEW YORK -- President Bush wasted international sympathy for the United States after the 2001 terrorist attacks by shifting from the search for Osama bin Laden to the ousting of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, former President Clinton said Tuesday.

The move alienated many U.S. allies and created a false impression among Americans that Saddam had a key role in the al-Qaida-engineered terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Clinton said. "I think the world was really pulling for us after 9-11," he said, but the Bush administration "divided the world ... to pursue our vision _ not because of any imminent threat but because that's what they wanted to do."

These are the latest DNC talking points. Jamie Rubin was just on Hannity and said the same thing.

President Bush needs to let loose some incriminating info on Clinton to get him to shut up. I'm sure there is plenty.

This is not only chutzpah, but right out of the Sol Alinsky book of accusing your detractors, of what you are in up to your eyeballs. The news this day, proves again to me, that we have a blight on this country, liberals and the MSM.

I still hold him responsible for all this mess we're in now and how dare he even give his un-asked for and his un-wanted opinion! His gall is as absolutely obscene.

I've had a chance to watch some television this week. Yesterday on The View, Hillary said that after Bubber finishes his book, he will start campaigning for Kerry. The book is done. I wonder if Kerry has even approached Bubber for help, or, if Bubber offers, will Kerry turn him down? This will be interesting to follow.

The same Bill Clinton that repeatedly drew a line in the sand for Saddam, then allowed him to continually walk over it. The same Bill Clinton who publicly threatened Saddam with attack over weapons inspections, then privately turned his head and ignored Iraq's failure to comply. The same Bill Clinton who provided Saddam and Kofi Annan with the means to pursue their Oil for Food scam.

You mean the stores already have a discount on the book. How fascinating!!! Just wait, he will make his supporters buy it or they could donate some amount to Hillary and get the book for free.

Why would anyone in their right mind write such a long book? The longest book I ever read was 'Gone with the Wind".

President Bush wasted international sympathy for the United States after the 2001 terrorist attacks

How long are we going to perpetuate this myth of post-9/11 international sympathy?

Most of the world hasn't liked us for a very, very long time - like since our inception.

Disdain and hatred for the US was relatively low key during the Cold War, when nations were divided into two camps.

Make no mistake, most of the planet outside of the leadership in Britain was privately pleased to see the US taken down a notch on 9/11. France in particular regards 9/11 as the beginning of the end of US supremacy.

Bush squandered international sympathy? It was never there.

Tell Bill Clinton to kiss my red rosie ass. I don't give a damn what he thinks. If I ever see him I'll tell him myself.

I for one would rather see Bin Ladin in jail than Saddam.

If I had to choose, I'm not sure I disagree.

Therefore, please pass along Bin Laden's current position so we can go get him.

Well, Bill's is probably also fictional but nowhere near as much fun as Gone With the Wind!

I'm guessing that bin Laden is in Iran anyway. The only way to get him is to invade Iran. And if you're going to invade Iran, you've got to invade Iraq first.
