Kristinn just called me and asked me to post this thread.

He just called CBS Evening News and asked them if they were going to show the militant Islamists' video of the beheading of American Nick Berg.

The woman who answered the phone said that they were going to do a story on it, but they were NOT going to show the full video.

He asked them, "Why not, since you had no problem showing the pictures of the Iraqis being abused by our guys in the prison. Don't you think turnabout is fair play?"

The woman got mad and said, "Thank you for your comment." and then hung up the phone.

My Philly local talk radio has a caller on stating that ABC and Jennings mentioned how the Berg family had filed a lawsuit against Rummy because their son was missing

This is reprehensible reporting, but it will increase Americans' anger at the terrorists and, in turn, support for our war effort.

It puts the prisoner abuse in perspective.

Enabled or not, CBS made an informed decision that had nothing to do with the provider of the pictures.

Calls to show the video get nowhere.
A better tack is to politely ask that since CBS repeatedly ran pictures of the prison "atrocities" which inflamed the Arab street and which then led directly to the beheading of Mr. Berg, when was the network planning to issue a public apology to Berg's family for causing his death?

very first post - lurker since 2000...so be gentle. do ya'll remember the famous video and pic of the saigon police chief shooting the vc in the head? the networks had no qualms about running that vid, but it fit their agenda.

I called CBS after I checked their website. They have pix of the prisoners on there, including a picture described as:"A badly beaten Iraqi appears dead in this photo from Abu Ghraib. The military is investigating at least 14 prisoner deaths in U.S. custody in Afghanistan and Iraq. According to Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller, there are "some deaths" at Abu Ghraib being probed. "

I talked to a young man, and then a woman, once he put me on hold. He didn't even know what was on the website, and I had to click through it with him. I was livid. I told them if they won't put a picture of the American that was beheaded today after his death, they should take that picture off, along with the others. I told her they should put the complete video of American being killed to inflame people just as they inflamed Iraqis with the prisoners pix...and it was probably a direct result of them releasing those pictures that an American was beheaded today.

She said my comments would be passed along.

Okay....the ONLY FAX I can find for CBS is to THEIR INTERNSHIP program......YOU decide.....I'm sending some graphic photos of our American hanging from a bridge and 9-11 compared to the terrorist on a leash and asking them WHICH is the ATROCITY? Am I out of line?
