IMHO, we only have one friend in the Middle East. I doubt anyone from that country was working in Iraq for the US military as translators.

This situation reminds me of the problems we have encountered with translation of crucial intelligence on the war on terror, both before and after 9-11. Using Arabs to translate sensitive information, such as intel and interrogations, is a minefield.

It's the equivalent of using Democrats to type internal memos in the Bush campaign. Yes, I'm sure they are Democrats who will keep their mouth shut, but I don't want to give them such an enormous power to derail a presidential campaign.
