Rumsfeld is taking the bullet...will he resign?
To: Howlin; NYC Republican
I can't imagine this wasn't well-timed...You are so right; there IS something "here".......some thread that is running all through this........I just cannot put my finger on it.
Attention needs to be drawn from 911 Commission and UN Oil/Food Scandal. Isn't it strange that both US and UK photos appeared at the same time?

Everyone at DoD anguished over what the photos show.
"If you could have seen the anguish in the faces of those in our department, you would know how we feel today"
To: mwl1
Just arrived and I could not agree with you more. This over the top media gambit will backfire because we support the troops and will not allow these grandstanding camera hogs to bring harm or humiliation to them.
This will backfire on Kerry because he says he was/is an unpunished war criminal. Therefore, those who think the military is inhabited by the depraved will equate Kerry as such a person; those who believe the military honorable will see Kerry as a traitor to those honorable men and women.

Rummie: there's been a good deal of discussion in recent days. Happened on his watch. He has to bring them to justice and make sure it never happens again.
He "feels terrible." those Iraqis are human beings. Offers "deepest apology" to those affected. Fundamentally unAmerican.
Regrets damage done to the honorable servicement and women. Wished he could have conveyed to President, Congress and American people the gravity of the situation before it came out.
Should have seen anguish on his departments faces when they first saw the pictures. Notes brought to light by other military personnel.

The whirring of cameras when they stood to be sworn sounded like a flock of birds.
