Oregon Man Arrested in Spain Bombings Probe

WASHINGTON  — FBI agents arrested a Portland, Ore., man Thursday as part of the investigation into the deadly train bombings in Spain, federal officials said.

Brandon Bieri Mayfield, a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody on a material witness warrant, said a senior law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity. The arrest, first reported in Newsweek, is the first known in the United States with connections to the March 11 bombings in Madrid.

The FBI also searched his home, which he shares with his wife, the official said.

We had a large group spread out in Oklahoma. They got very vocal with their Anti America stuff in the early part of the 1900's until WWI came up.

Then, they got quiet and blended in until the 1930's. They got very vocal and anti American again. Then, WWII came and they became quiet again.

They reared their ugly heads again when Ike became president. I lost track of them when I left the state in 1961.

I know that they were all over the farmlands of Kansas. We have a friend who grew up there and left Kansas to get away from them. In her words, her brother and mother got infected with the Progressive Mental Illness and became bitter people.

It would be interesting to find out if the cities that forbade their law officials to co-operate with the feds were simply doing it out of liberal spite or if some of the officials involved actually were in bed with these terrorists.(literally, not just simpathetically). Perhaps some of these terrorists have their own versions of the "900 FBI" files on some of these politico's.

Come to think of it...we tend to look over seas for terrorist head-quarters, perhaps the IED's and other bombs are being made over here and shipped out. Proverbs talks about the "spiders that make their homes in King's throne rooms." Perhaps the center for world terrorism is right here in the US under our noses. Bin Ladin talked about dying a martyr's death in the "center of the eagle". Start eyeing your Muslim neighbors and mosques, note who goes in and out and PC attitudes about "profiling" be damned. Watch for the caucasians going in and out as well.

Missile factory blows up in Syria

LONDON — An explosion has been reported at a leading Syrian weapons factory, killing 35 people.

The explosion was reported early last week in the northern Syrian city of Homs. Western diplomatic sources said a factory in a huge Syrian weapons complex exploded, killing many of the technicians in the building and causing widespread damage.

The sources said they did not know the cause of the blast. The Homs complex produces Scud C and D missiles as well as nonconventional weapons, according to Middle East Newsline.

Homs, with a population of about 500,000 people, is located 160 kilometers north of Damascus. The city has an oil refinery and is a major railroad junction.

The sources said the explosion took place either on March 24 or March 25. They said they did not know exactly what facility was destroyed.

"It could have been an explosion of a missile or something that took place during the production or testing of explosives," a Western intelligence source said. "We don't know and we might not know for a while."

U.S. intelligence sources said Syria maintains a missile test site 15 kilometers south of Homs. They said Syria has tested such missiles as the Scud C and Scud D as well as chemical warheads.

Syria also constructed missile factories in nearby Hama, about 110 kilometers north of Damascus. One factory is meant to produce solid-fuel missiles and the other is for liquid-fuel missiles. The solid-fuel missile is being developed with the help of Iran.

The Homs explosion is said to be the latest in a series of accidents that have taken place during Syria's missile and nonconventional weapons programs. In 1991, the Syrian Health Ministry closed down five pharmaceuticals plants, including one in Homs, during what Western intelligence agencies determined were tests of chemical weapons.

Thank you: In arabic the name bilal means "First Convert Of Muhammad".

I have heard that it means Ram's Horn and the "The way or path" in some areas.

When you do a search, there is just too many bilals to figure out what it means.

Outside their home near Portland late Thursday, Mona Mayfield described her husband as "a good man, a good father, a good husband." The couple have two sons, ages 10 and 15, and a 12-year-old daughter.

Portland attorney Tom Nelson, who described himself as a mentor, said he received a call Thursday afternoon from Mayfield asking for help.

"His wife was in tears because of the way the search was conducted. The FBI apparently hurt things in the house, left things in disarray," Nelson told reporters outside Mayfield's home. "He is a regular, run-of-the-mill guy."

Is that the run of the mill that Saddam ran people thru?
