I don't see how Floridians stand his presence in their state.I guess, a lot of them don't know what's going on
or perhaps they don't care.

I honestly can not stand this anymore. I don't know why they want to kill this sweet woman. I can not stand it anymore. Every time I get a bit of hope,it turns out like this. What is wrong with this country? I will NEVER visit my relatives in Florida. I HATE Florida now.

Baird ruled that the so-called ``Terri's Law'' is unconstitutional because it violates Terri Schiavo's right to privacy and because it delegated legislative power to the governor.
Just about every law passed by the legislature delegates legislative power to the executive branch. Bizzaro.

There's even a possibility that she doesn't really need the feeding tube if they would just give her rehabilitation therapy to learn how to swallow food. She evidently already swallows. She doesn't drool or anything. Her husband who lives with another woman and has two children with this other woman will not allow her to have any swallowing tests. Even the iterim Guardian ad litem wanted her to have these tests, but the judge dismissed the appointed guardian.
The husband has refused to allow the parents to visit Terri for 38 days now. He keeps her isolated and won't even get her teeth clean. They had a dentist pull 5 teeth recently, but no reason was given for pulling the teeth.

Has he done a press conference? I will bet he has an evil leftist lawyer too...
Why doesn't this guy just step away? Give him a civil release [not criminal]...
This makes no sense...why doesn't Jeb just step in and make her a ward of the state?

I knew he was going to.
If Terri is allowed to live some powerful people in Pinellas County politics and some not so powerful individual[s] will probably end up in state prison.
Not only does Terri have to die, she must be killed as slowly to teach the peasants not to challenge their masters.
The next question is what are Terri's parents going to do?

Now can she rest in peace and join her heavenly Father rather living in this earthly hell?
Yeah, because brain-damaged people are better off dead, right?
I'll hold my tongue and stop here.

I wish beyond all things that the church would grant this poor girl an annulment.
But what good would that do, without the state recognizing a divorce at the same time?

Oh my God. As a disabled person (born with Cerebral Palsy), this honestly scares the heck out of me. Something like this COULD be my future- just a fact of life, as anyone with CP gets older (I'm 29 now) their organs could start to rapidly deteriorate. If this vicious man (Terri's "husband") and this judge get their way, it would be a terribly sad tragedy. How could the state allow this to happen with NO living will signed by Terri. NOTHING with her signature on it saying that it would be her wish to die. Just go by something she may or may not have said years ago- that's absolute insanity. And I also want to say, thank you to all the people who are supporting Terri. I can only hope if (God forbid) something like this happens to me later on in my life, that you wonderful people would be on my side too. Please never forget that the disabled are not an "inconvenience" to society- we're real people with the same feelings and emotions as all of you have, all created by the same God that created you.

1SECTION 21. Limiting cruel and inhumane confinement of pigs during pregnancy.--Inhumane treatment of animals is a concern of Florida citizens. To prevent cruelty to certain animals and as recommended by The Humane Society of the United States, the people of the State of Florida hereby limit the cruel and inhumane confinement of pigs during pregnancy as provided herein. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to confine a pig during pregnancy in an enclosure, or to tether a pig during pregnancy, on a farm in such a way that she is prevented from turning around freely. (b) This section shall not apply: (1) when a pig is undergoing an examination, test, treatment or operation carried out for veterinary purposes, provided the period during which the animal is confined or tethered is not longer than reasonably necessary. (2) during the prebirthing period. (c) For purposes of this section: (1) "enclosure" means any cage, crate or other enclosure in which a pig is kept for all or the majority of any day, including what is commonly described as the "gestation crate." (2) "farm" means the land, buildings, support facilities, and other appurtenances used in the production of animals for food or fiber. (3) "person" means any natural person, corporation and/or business entity. (4) "pig" means any animal of the porcine species. (5) "turning around freely" means turning around without having to touch any side of the pig's enclosure. (6) "prebirthing period" means the seven day period prior to a pig's expected date of giving birth. (d) A person who violates this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082(4)(a), Florida Statutes (1999), as amended, or by a fine of not more than $5000, or by both imprisonment and a fine, unless and until the legislature enacts more stringent penalties for violations hereof. On and after the effective date of this section, law enforcement officers in the state are authorized to enforce the provisions of this section in the same manner and authority as if a violation of this section constituted a violation of Section 828.13, Florida Statutes (1999). The confinement or tethering of each pig shall constitute a separate offense. The knowledge or acts of agents and employees of a person in regard to a pig owned, farmed or in the custody of a person, shall be held to be the knowledge or act of such person. (e) It is the intent of this section that implementing legislation is not required for enforcing any violations hereof. (f) If any portion of this section is held invalid for any reason, the remaining portion of this section, to the fullest extent possible, shall be severed from the void portion and given the fullest possible force and application. (g) This section shall take effect six years after approval by the electors. History.--Proposed by Initiative Petition filed with the Secretary of State August 5, 2002; adopted 2002.

Thanks for the ping, Fe. I was going straight to bed. Glad I stopped by. I am not surprised. It seems the courts are on the wrong side of every issue. More has to be done on this or we are going to lose and we can't afford this loss. Terri can't afford it.
I will say lots of prayers.
Just curious, is there a priest who is close to the Schiavos?
To: floriduh voter
Great idea!
You know Pres Bush would sign it!
Even some family members who voted for the other guy have seen the real side of the Dems since Bush was elected and they're voting for him this year. They were so proud when they told me, I loved it!!
