Kerry was riding with Secret Service agents through Concord, about 18 miles north of Boston, when his bike hit a patch of sand and he fell, campaign officials said.
"He's fine. They took the bike into the bike shop and he went home," said campaign spokesman Michael Meehan.
Kerry was in Massachusetts he has a home in Boston enjoying a break from the campaign trail. It was not immediately clear on what road in Concord he was biking.
Kerry, 60, rides his bicycle as often as he can and sometimes brings it with him on the campaign plane.

Kerry (is)....a proficient windsurfer (in 1998, he was featured on the cover of American Windsurfer magazine),....in recent years has kicked it up a notch with kiteboarding, a new water sport that has occasionally resulted in fatal accidents. He's also a longtime motorcyclist, airplane pilot, powerboater, and long-distance bicyclist. What? No touch football for the JFK wannabe?

Thanks for posting the Globe reminder.
He's no athlete.
Remember how the media made President Ford out to be such a klutz?
Kerry is a real spaz.
He should never wear shorts,
especially the gay thangs he has on.
And that helmet! Color coordinated with his bicycle.
I can't stop laughing.

Everytime I see the wimp on a bicycle, this song floats into my head:
I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I rollerskated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone but you've got something I need
Well, I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them on to see
I've been lookin around awhile
you've got something for me
Well, I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I ride my bike, I rollerskate don't drive no car
Don't go so fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don't drive, I've been all around the world
Some people say I've done alright for a girl
I asked your mother if you were at home
She said yes, but that you weren't alone
It almost seems like you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone but you've got something I need
I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them on to see
(La la la la la, la la la)
Well, I got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You've got a brand new key.

That song was banned from some playlists back in 1971. They said the song was too suggestive.

I had to show my husband the picture. He's not against bike riding, but cannot, for the life of him, figure out why they insist on dressing like a gay parade.
Hubby: "Oh Jeeze...what an idiot!"
Those shorts on men are just obscene.

HEY! That's the same outfit he wore last time he went biking. Or maybe he just has multiples of everything. Yawn.

A good racing grade Trek carbon frame (with Ultegra instead of Dura-Ace, works just as well, just weighs a little more and costs a lot less) runs a little over $2300. And it's no low end carbon, it's the same that US Postal used a few years ago. But this poser gets a fully tricked out $7000 pro road frame, and rides it only for photo ops! Wearing sneakers! What a dork!

You mean absolutely NO ONE got a photo????? I find that impossible to believe. Sure they got some photos but Tereza came along and bought up the negatives.

I remember being a little girl, and my big sisters putting their ears to the radio trying to figure out the lyrics.

Remember how risque Louie, Louie was? There was *nothing* risque about Louie Louie but because some clowns from the Pacific Northwest tried to mimic a Jamaican accent while using bad recording equipment and a catchy beat, the song became a major hit because a few people *thought* there was something suggestive in the lyrics when there really wasn't.
BTW, did you notice Kerry had two water bottles on his bicycle? One bottle had Evian and the other had Perrier.

Besides making an illegal turn signal using his right arm.
But, good liberal that he is, Kerry will not lose control of the left...
