CONCORD, Mass. - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) took a spill from his bicycle while riding Sunday afternoon but was not injured, a campaign official said.

Kerry was riding with Secret Service agents through Concord, about 18 miles north of Boston, when his bike hit a patch of sand and he fell, campaign officials said.
"He's fine. They took the bike into the bike shop and he went home," said campaign spokesman Michael Meehan.
Kerry was in Massachusetts he has a home in Boston enjoying a break from the campaign trail. It was not immediately clear on what road in Concord he was biking.
Kerry, 60, rides his bicycle as often as he can and sometimes brings it with him on the campaign plane.

Yup.
That Cheney is a some ventriloquist.
They never saw his lips move.
Surely they thought it odd that W was sitting on his lap the whole time. [/dripping sarcasm]
[pardon me while I scream]...LOL!

Forgive me for making fun of what is presented to us as important, but most of it is "not important". Are we talking about your posts or Kerry on a tricycle?

An 18- mile bike ride while his campaign is floundering?
Sounds like he may be compelled to exercise vigorously---- on doctor's orders ---- that's what sufferers of connective tissue disease (Marfan Syndrome) need to do to keep their tissues flexible.
Remember all that snowboarding and skiing in Idaho?

Oh, his poor butler, I feel for him. He has to go on Midol runs for this charmless prima donna. Kerry really sucks. I thought it impossible, but he has out a-holed Gore.

"I have seen professional touring bikes that run about $3,000 plus How in the world can a bike cost $7,000?"
I don't know exactly how expensive his bike is but it could easily be more than $3K. This is no "touring" bike. At $7k it would be top top of the line. Lots of carbon fiber and titanium.
I'm no Kerry fan and this thread is a lot of fun, but being a bike rider myself the saying goes "There are two types of riders, those who have fallen and those that will." If you ride enough you will go down. I see he was wearing gloves and a helmet. Good for him.

That this man is so desperate to appear manly and virile really is quite pathetic. Real men don't have to go around wearing costumes and playing with expensive toys to prove it. They just are.

As this unfortunate maiming of Kerry happened while he was campaigning for the military position of commander-in-chief, he will obviously insist that he be awarded another purple heart.

If this reading material is beneath you....then why are you here? The folks here are just letting off a little steam, so ease up okay.

Oh man, he can't even ride a bike. Go home, John and ask your wife to let you drive the SUV.

Contrast all the idiotic metrosexual action snowboard, bicycle (or in ths case bi-cycle? lol), football, etc. photos with GW photos - Pickup truck, cowboy hat, sweating with a chainsaw clearing mesquite.

? Sounds like pure speculation on your part. I don't begrudge the guy for being physically active. W is a runner and has done a marathon.

Jonsie,
Re: your post #51. Do you remember Sniglets? Words that should be in the dictionary, but aren't?
The perfect word for Kerry's stumble: Strumble. I am paraphrasing the Sniglet definition, but it's something like:
Tripping, and then turning around and blaming it on some imaginary obstacle.

Another Dem. from Mass. who looks goofy in a helmet. I think they should just lay off the head protection, if they want to get elected. Well, on second thought, keep wearing goofy helmets!!

I agree with you, but in the television age it is relevant that Kerry (who will be in our face 24/7) is an unlikeable, accident prone schmuck.
George H. W. tossing his cookies at the Japanese wasn't imortant, but it just might have cost him the presidency.
I wish we could discuss substantive things, but who knows Kerry's Soc security plan. You can bet that reform is too tricky, and the status quo will remain intact.
Immigration reform won't happen by either. Kerry doesn't want to offend hispanics and he knows that it's in his interest to keep it going-- they vote for him. Bush won't do it in the name of compassionate conservatism and to placate big business.
And in the age of terror, it looks like smaller gov't is out.
so it's fun to talk about the trivia.
To: Fedora
Bwahahahhahahahahahahaha!!!!! Thanks! Now we need photos or videos of Kerry falling to go with it. Seriously, this could be Kerry's "tank" moment, a la Dukakis.
To: petercooper
What...no pics of Botoxboy wailing on the ground, kicking a secret service agent for getting in the way?
