CONCORD, Mass. - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) took a spill from his bicycle while riding Sunday afternoon but was not injured, a campaign official said.

Kerry was riding with Secret Service agents through Concord, about 18 miles north of Boston, when his bike hit a patch of sand and he fell, campaign officials said.
"He's fine. They took the bike into the bike shop and he went home," said campaign spokesman Michael Meehan.
Kerry was in Massachusetts he has a home in Boston enjoying a break from the campaign trail. It was not immediately clear on what road in Concord he was biking.
Kerry, 60, rides his bicycle as often as he can and sometimes brings it with him on the campaign plane.

Wishful thinking on Kerry's part. Jed Bartlett hit a tree while riding a bike in the first episode of West Wing. This will be a close as Kerry will get to the Oval Office.

Kerry might have an inner ear equilibrium problem which causes him to be unbalanced, thus falling frequently. Or he could just be a bad snowboarder/bicycle rider.

When the media showed Kerry over and over skiing down the slopes and looking like the spoiled rich kid, it reminded me of a movie made in the 60's called "Ski Party." A guy called Frankie would ski holding and reading a book entitled "The Adventures of Don Jaun."

Oh, dear. They must be dashed that their latest theory got flushed away with the "revelation" (LOL) that President Bush took 99% of the questions from the commission and Cheney barely said a peep.
Oh wait--they covered that with his "memorizing". Surely they can't say the likes of Ben Veniste would provide his questions ahead of time, would they?
I guess they would. Those zany nuts.

"Arte Johnson's Tricycle - On the comedy variety program ROWAN & MARTIN PRESENTS LAUGH-IN/NBC1968-72 comedian Arte Johnson made bicycle riding history when he created the famous "adult on tricycle" skit. Dressed in a yellow raincoat, Arte Johnson's adult body precariously balanced itself on a child's tricycle. Furiously pedaling the trike, Arte suddenly came to a dead-stop, slowly tipped over and then lay silent on the ground, hands still gripping the tiny handle bars and feet still on the pedals. The skit spawned the phrase "pulling an Arte Johnson" that referred to someone who falls off his bicycle. "

He was probably on the roads between Concord and Carlisle, which are quite popular with bicyclists. The shoulders are uneven, however. Son of Plutarch bears faint road rash scars on his shin from a mishap he suffered whilst riding behind Plutarch on one of those trailer bicycle things.
I also took it upon myself to examine the photograph more closely. At least Kerry doesn't shave his legs, as would a cyclist seeking to emulate the look of more accomplished cyclists.

Was the bike okay?

The quote you'll hear about this one is "I did not fall down with that bicycle" (finger-wagging).

LOL! He looks like a real jock, huh?!? I hope to hell he doesn't swim for exercise, I would hate to see that speedo-clad body spread across the front pages.
PLEASE kerry, enough with the vim and vigor crap. It's not selling.

What's he doing here??
Looks like the "Village People" try-outs
