All- Lee Hamilton had an appointment to see the Prime Minister of Canada is what I heard on the radio.

Huh? What the heck is the co-chair of the 9/11 commission doing meeting with the Prime Minister of Canada? Or does it have something to do with his real job as a lobbyist, or something?

Lee Hamilton had to be at a long previously scheduled significant speech by PM Martin at the Woodrow Wilson Int'l Center for Scholars, of which Lee hamilton is the Director.

Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honorable Paul Martin, Delivers Significant Policy Address

April 29, 2004

Today at noon, Wilson Center President and Director Lee H. Hamilton hosted a major policy address by the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honorable Paul Martin.

"Today, the Wilson Center was pleased to co-host Prime Minister Paul Martin at a significant event that we have been putting together for over a year. We were particularly pleased that the Prime Minister's substantive and wide-ranging remarks focused upon international issues that are at the core of the Center's mission, and touched upon vital aspects of the U.S.-Canadian relationship."

The event was co-hosted with the Center for Global Development. More than 500 people were in attendance at the event which took place in the Amphitheatre of the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.

That would certainly be worth checking into.

Why was it so important that he meet with the PM of Canada? Was he planning a Caribou hunting trip? Was he worried that no other Americans wanted to have lunch with Chretien? Very bizzare behavior. But then, it's a very bizarre commission.
