Doesn't Specter have a better chance of beating the Dem challenger in November? If we lose Specter's seat to the Dems we are risking losing our senate majority! And don't tell me that Specter always voted with the Dems anyway, It;'s better to have a Republican voting with the Dems than a Dem voting with the Dems. There are distinct proceduaral advantages to a Repub majoirty in the Senate that go above and beyond winning this or that vote.

How come Bush is supporting Spector when he votes against Bush's judge appointments?
To: ken5050
"Can PA pro-lifers be that gullible? The same thing can be said of that state's gun owners. How long has Spector been in the Senate? There's your answer. For that matter how stoopid can the electorate from South Dakota be to keep giving little tommy daschle HIS salary term after term when he keeps trying to erode their rights?

Do you think maybe a lot of Specter's supporters don't know he's in trouble, or are simply more apathetic than Toomey's voters? I hardly hear about a groundswell for Specter, but with Toomey, it's signs, rallies, you name it. Specter's voters must be invisible.

When "pro-lifers" are dmentioned in political discussions, it usually refers to "one-issue" candidates...Lok, here in NY we have the Conservative Party and the Right-toLife Party, f' pete's sake.....go figure that one out..I can't...that's why I was questioning the statement in the article...regards..

Rendell's pro abort. A lot of Santorum Dems went for him. Of course, the pro-abort pubbies also went for him but they knew what they were getting.
A lot of gun owners went for him, thinking he was much more conservative than he is. Rendell is a good pol, I'll give him that.

How come Bush is supporting Spector when he votes against Bush's judge appointments? Because Toomey (in theory) will have a much harder time winning the general election than Arlen the RINO.

We already have the House, Senate and Presidency. We're still heading toward destruction. They want the USA destroyed.

Rendell has that John Gotti charm. In every sense of that comparison. Also, Rendell campaigned almost exclusively on cutting the property tax.
