ABC World News Now. April 27, 2004
I was interested to hear that the leader of the Al Qaeda cell organizing the explosive and chemical attack on the Jordanian security headquarters and the American Embassy in Jordan state that he received his training from Al-Zawahiri in Iraq, prior to the fall of Afghanistan. This training was in the use of weapons of mass destruction using easily obtained chemicals.
This video statement, by the leader of the attack team, proves beyond any doubt that there was definitely a connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda prior to the Liberation of Iraq.
Since Zawahiri is not a chemist, this specific Iraqi and Al Qaeda relationship suggests to me that the tools and techniques to build chemical weapons of mass destruction came from the Iraqis.
President Bush has repeatedly stated one of his reasons for the invasion of Iraq was to prevent Iraqi weapons technology from falling into the hands of Al Qaeda and here is this Al Qaeda team leader stating that is exactly what happened.
ABC News presented the video containing the terrorists statement, but has not made this connection or commented on it.

Just some cross reference details on this...
According to This Report [POISON GAS PLOT] , Azmi al-Jayousi, leader of the terror cell, admitted he was schooled in explosives and poisons in Afghanistan, then plotted in Iraq with Jordanian militant Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi, a close associate of Osama bin Laden.
This still shows a link between Iraq & al-Qaeda, but it seems al-Jyaousi's training was actually done in Afghanistan.

Nice... any link available to this ABC report? I know a few liberals who I'd love to see strangle on this bit of information.

I hope that this is true but there's one thing I've noticed about myself and I'm trying to break myself of the habit is that I'm quick to believe things in the press that I want to believe and quick to dismiss things that aren't.
For some reason I have my doubts about this report being true.

This wasn't a report. It was a video statement made by Azmi al-Jayousi, himself.
Again, it wasn't a report in the press. It was this man's own video-taped testimony.

This confession will be dismissed as forced under torture. The Jordanians had these guys for several days before the confession was aired and whether it's true or not their confessions won't change anything. Don't get your hopes up.

Not Al-Zawahiri, Al-Zarquawi. Both Al Qaeda, but there is a difference, as Zawahiri is bin Laden's right hand man. No evidence of him being in Iraq.

Under Saddam, the weapons were contained. Because of Bush, they're in the hands of terrorists.

Chemical WMD and al-Qaeda, wow, good thing they were in Jordan so the libs/dems can still claim no WMD or al-Qaeda in Iraq.
[The libs/dems remind me of something a niece pulled 25 years ago when she was about 3 years old.
All of the sudden, she starts yelling, "I can't see! I can't see!"
Family panics. "What's wrong?" "What happened?" "Why can't you see?"
Niece snickers, "I can't see....'cause I've got my eyes shut. hehehe."]

Plot in Jordan could have killed upwards of 80,000 had it been successful.
[How do you get through to libs and Euroweinies that they -- Islamist fanatics -- are out to kill as many people as possible?]
