Will Specter endorse Toomey if he loses? I would assume he would endorse Toomey in the general election if Toomey wins, although his way of thinking is more like a liberal democrat.

Having a GOP leadership is important, but not fundamentally so.

If the choice was between a Democrat leadership, without Specter, or a Republican Leadership, with Specter, which would be better?

Given that Specter would be part of that leadership, and would, in fact, be chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I see very little difference.

There are a few other RINOs in the Senate. But none of them would have the influence that Specter would, were he re-elected.

So while I might argue that we need to support other RINOs, simply to retain the majority, I will not do that, with Specter, because a Republican leadership with him running the Judiciary Committee is not better than a Democrat leadership.

It's simple..

If it looks clear the GOP will hold onto majority in the Senate..

What would you rather have.. 53 seats with liberal, pro-abortion Spector chairing Judiciary Committee with all the Supreme Court nominess coming up.. Spector already torpedoed Bush's appelate court nominees, he'll do the same again. Spector, in his last term, is also quite possible to do a switch similar to Jeffords did. So the edge would remain the same.

Or would you rather hold 52 seats, with true conservative Jon Kyl chairing the Judiciary Committee?

Which one of the two scenarios advances the conservative agenda the most? No brainer, the ladder.

I'll fight to hell and back to make sure Spector is destroyed in November..

I'l encourage Hoeffel support, as well as support of the other 3rd party candidate.

My #1 objective right now is to end the career of Arlen Spector, and if it doesn't happen tomorrow, we will go all-out in the fall to do it.

I'm truly sitting this one out.

Though I'm a Minnesotan, I have contributed small amounts to both Specter and Toomey (when he first ran in 1998).

I consider them to be both decent guys but I do have serious reservations about Specter's "Not Proven" vote...among other things.

My hope is that regardless of who wins the primary that they won't be too battered by the primary and can defeat Hoeffel in November.

That's the bottom line for me.

Amen! Spector chairing the Judiciary committee - is like giving it to Kennedy or Schumer!

I hope Toomey has enough going for him to beat Specter. He gets my vote. I'm in south central PA. Can't tell what its like for Toomey, I have seen about 5 yard/bumper signs for him and none for Arlen so maybe thats a good sign.

Ticked me off yesterday......I received a card from the NRA backing Specter. What is it about him that attracts the backers.....is there something about Toomey we should know about?

Remember, we support the rightmost candidate on the ballet in November...

You are correct, sir. That we do.

I hope it will not be some effeminate Russian dancer whose only interest in the leggy ballerina is as a vehicle for his paycheck. :)

Cain isn't leading in all the polls.

I think you're mistaken. I had someone tell me how crazy the world is, named some examples and then added "And the n-word running for senate is the one that makes sense."

THIS IS A QUOTE FROM SOMEONE ELSE, NOT ME.

Needless to say, he is getting that vote also, and many more from people who would probably say the same thing.

We'll see after July 20th (the R primary). The republican will win the seat.

Well Specter will keep the Senate with a Republican majority until the November election, unless he is no bitter about being voted out by his own party that he finally becomes a Democrat. But even still it would be a tie, and Dick Cheney would cast the deciding vote.

I think Toomy can win in November, and though it's not a sure thing, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I also fully expect Republicans to pick up several seats in November, including Boxer's in California.

P.S while you are voting for Hoffel, you should go ahead and vote for Kerry too.

W is the reason Spector will beat Toomey @

Senate is not a sure thing for Republicans at this point.

Doesn't matter. Denise Majette will be the Democratic nominee, and she's black. In a Cain/Majette matchup, someone has to be picked.
