Cain opens South Georgia Field Office
U.S. Senate candidate first to open office outside of Atlanta
April 21, 2004
VALDOSTA, GA Before a large crowd of supporters, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Herman Cain, opened a South Georgia Field Office in Valdosta, Wednesday, April 21.
I am excited about opening an office in South Georgia, said Cain. I have been traveling throughout the state and I have received overwhelming support everywhere I go. We are opening this office so that Team Cain members have a place locally to make phone calls, to organize to go door-to-door and to pick up literature and yard signs to distribute.
Team Cain is leading the other campaigns in grassroots organization. Cain, the first candidate to go on television and radio, has been steadily building an unparalleled grassroots organization across Georgia. With a network of volunteer field representatives and regional coordinators, as well as county chairs and coalition leaders, Cain is taking his conservative, common sense message directly to the voters.
To be a United States Senator, I believe that you need to represent the entire state, said Cain. I have been traveling across Georgia, going door-to-door and business-to-business, meeting individually with voters.
Cain and his chief opponent Congressman Johnny Isakson are neck and neck for this quarter total raised and Cain has out raised Congressman Mac Collins for the second consecutive quarter.
My message of replacing the tax code with a national sales tax, restructuring Social Security using personal retirement accounts and stopping out-of-control government spending has been resonating across Georgia, Cain concluded. I am proud to be the first Georgia U.S. Senate candidate to open an office outside of Atlanta.
The new office, located at 100 North Patterson Street in Valdosta, is being run by Kristina Twitty of Valdosta. She can be reached at (229) 244-1134 or by email at kristina@cainforussenate.org. For additional information on Herman Cain, please visit: www.cainforussenate.org.

such as the way he dressed down Bill Clinton or his representative (don't remember which) during the HillaryCare attempt in 1994 (he pointed out that forcing a place like Papa John's to give health care to its workers would cause a combination of much higher prices, layoffs, and business contraction, but he said it much better than I just did).

Why is IL so far to the left of OH anyway?Great question! The same could be asked of Michigan. All three are virtually identical as to the things that comprise the states respectively. You'd think they'd be mirror images of each other, right?

Why is IL so extreme?
Simple.
Racial prejudice, hatred, and bias. In Chicago.

which has the best chance? Are you kidding? Any republican we nominate will win. Georgia is firm in the Republican camp.

Thanks. Mr. Cain's reasoned arguments in this column demonstrate why he should win.

Umm, the Dem candidate is unelectable, and the D's know it. It doesn't matter which R you pick.
R's have a 75-85% chance or better at winning Georgia nomatter who the nominee is. They have the money, they have the organization, and they have the voting patterns of the state. Oh, and they now have better house districts, which makes it even more of a blowout.
To: litany_of_lies
If that's the case, then Bush is screwed.
However, it's not the case, and he's fine.
Ill. hasn't went R since Regan I believe, and certainly not since Bush 41.
Ohio he needs. Florida he needs. He can skip one of these if he wins Penn. and Wis.
Truth be told, my prediction is all the Bush states, + New Mexico, Wisconson, and Pennsylvania.
Sounds good to me.

Cain made his money at Godfather's Pizza. He has many friends in Omaha and raised lots of money here. I'd like to see a poll on how he's doing. I sent him money.

I have been hearing his ads, and both my husband and I decided we wanted to find out more about Cain based on the ads. I think we will be voting for him.
To: Politicalmom
I believe that the closer you look, the better you will like Mr. Cain- he's an independent thinker. See that 1994 article in #22.

re: Even if you force me to concede that some white Georgians won't ever vote for a black man)))
I'll never forget my first presidential election after I moved to the rural mountainous south. So many homes flew the Confed flag, something I regarded as rather rude, given the unhappiness it causes. Then, that repub election cycle, I started seeing "Alan Keyes" signs in these same yards.
Politics is funny. Opinions you make up, based on superficials, will make a fool of you.
I've heard this Cain is quite a charismatic guy--I read some of his speeches, but haven't seen him in action yet.

Have you heard Cain speak? I have not. Is he a charmer? That can be a big help.
I assume no scandals, a decent family life? That's also a big help.
How exciting-- good-looking, hard-working, smart, well-spoken (from his letter and from what I've heard) conservative entrepeneur, who also happens to be black. I don't see how this can lose...?

I just signed up. Thank you so very much. We need Mr. Cain, and a whole lot more like him, in every sort of office, from national to local.

You HAVE to hear Herman Cain speak. He rules! When he speaks, he hits home runs every time. He is what every TRUE conservative wants to hear, none of this wishy washy RINO watered down crap.
He is a part-time preacher. He is a motivational speaker (check on amazon.com). Scandal-free! He charms. He motivates. He fires you up. He doesn't mince words. If ever there was a man that would shake the Senate, it is this man.
He motivated my sorry ass to get up and get a team together to deliver his brochures to a thousand people (growing daily); distributed 200 yard signs in two counties; installed 6 of his big eight foot signs. If Herman Cain can motivate me, he can motivate a lot of people. He is doing that on the ground. He will do that in Washington D.C.
HIS NAME IS CAIN! YOUR NEXT U.S. SENATOR!

...some white Georgians won't ever vote for a black man.I'm seeing Cain bumper stickers on the rusted bumpers of quite a few pickup trucks out here in Cobb, Paulding, and Douglas. I'm pleasantly suprised and hopeful that race will take a back seat to principle here. With God's help, people will see HC as not just a black man, but a successful, decent, conservative leader worthy of a spot in the Senate.

He finally got me with his advocacy of abolishing the IRS. I think that grabs a lot of folks attention. I have been inclined that way for decades, but it takes someone with a big, nationally-heard voice to bring it to the attention of voters and hold it there.
