I've never seen a photo of Kerry taking the bus, which is what a large percentage of commuters are forced to do.

WASHINGTON — As part of a four-state bus tour stressing job creation, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry will visit Michigan on Wednesday.

“There is no group of Americans that felt the pain of the Bush economy more strongly than the citizens of these four states,” said Kerry, who also will tour West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Kerry’s bus tour, which starts Monday, hits four of 17 swing states that both parties are targeting. Of the four states, Michigan by far has the highest jobless rate — 6.6 percent, the third highest in the country.

Most analysts say it would be nearly impossible for Kerry to win the presidency without carrying Michigan, signaling how heated the fight will be for the state. In two recent Michigan polls, Bush and Kerry were in a statistical dead heat.

Kerry will stop in the Detroit area Wednesday at a yet-undetermined city, his campaign said.

In an interview with regional reporters Thursday, Kerry once again distanced himself from his proposal two years ago to boost fuel economy standards of cars and light trucks to 36 miles per gallon by 2015, up from an average of 24 miles per gallon today. Instead, he called higher fuel standards a “goal,” adding that he is “very open to find a resonable way” to get there.

“John Dingell and Carl Levin and Jennifer Granholm and Sandy Levin would not support me if they thought I was going to cost jobs for the state of Michigan,” Kerry said, reeling off names of leading Democratic members of Congress and the governor who support him. “I want cars made in Michigan and made in America by the UAW.”

The Bush-Cheney re-election campaign shot back:

“John Kerry’s illogical economic policies of higher taxes and more government regulation would send the Michigan economy into a tailspin,” said spokeswoman Merrill Smith.

That doesn't look like a Purple Heart plate, isn't that just a normal Maryland truck plate?

I live in Virginia and that is a Virginia plate with a Purple Heart designation.

A Purple Heart plate??

How Common: "Do you folks have a plate with three purple hearts on it??"

I was working across from the Dean Kerry rally last month. I did get a good look at the vehicles that both Kerry and Dean arrived in and they both had MD plates and looked to be privately owned SUVs.

Furthermore, Kerry did not have SS detail in tow. I remember seeing only a handful of security with these odd large diamond shaped pins on their jackets. They also demanded that we close our windows when Kerry came in (I was on the third floor directly across the street from the rally). I yelled down that they had no right to make me close my windows - it's a science building and unless I'm given notice by my school I'm not doing anything. I told them that they'd have to get the MPD there to tell me to close the window at which point they left me alone.

So, bottomline....Kerry and Dean both arrived in private SUVs (MD tags no gov't designation) and I suspect the security was nothing more than some rent a cop deal. I thought that the candidates only get SS protection after they are nominated by their parties?

The elites do not think that big, luxurious cars and SUVs should be banned. They think these are appropriate for the rich and elite. What disgust them is the idea of millions of ordinary people clogging up the roads with these big cars.

I mean, it's not a problem when just a few people drive gas-guzzling cars and live in big houses. It becomes an environmental disaster when millions of people live like this. This is how the elites think and Arrianna Huffington said as much on the Hannity show when she spoke of millions of SUVs.

The same principal applies to CEO compensation. It is not that expensive, as a percentage of company expenses, to pay the CEO and top managers a few million. But pay the little people a lot and it becomes very expensive, because there are so many of them.

Loathsome elites. It's all pretty rational if you start with the presumption that it is appropriate for a small class of people to live like princes, while the common people "know their place."

What looks like a purple heart in the distance is actually the letter "M". The state is hard to read, but it appears to start with M. It doesn't look long enough to be Massachusetts.

Those are Maryland plates. I doubt that is Kerry's car. His SUV is white as noted in the picture from Drudge.

It doesn't match the Purple Heart Tag photos for Virginia and Maryland.

It appears to be a private vehicle plate with the personalize PH or SC award in the center instead on the left side of the tag as in most states.

We have the right to find out if he owns an suv, while riding in one and lying about it.

This ties in with th 50 cent/gallon tax and the increase in COLA gas mileage per auto manufacturer he is messing around in. He rode to an earth day speech in his SUV to condemn evil suv drivers. If that doesn't anger you, just go to another thread and quit trolling here.
