Have you noticed a spate of these school stories? It's near the end of the school year and these things happen when teachers have had enough. To avoid these unpleasant episodes, the school year should be shortened to the old 160 days. That's when the scores for standardized tests were much higher than they are now, by the way.

The two boys later told principal Kenneth Daniels that they threw the girl out the window because they did not want to be written up for disobeying a teacher. What the He** is teacher doing taking a student's photograph without permission, and, when asked about it, responded with disparaging remarks about the girl's appearance?

The student's outrage is perfectly understandable and appropriate, IMHO. Perhaps she should have remonstrated without profanity, but this is clearly an incident provoked by the teacher. And, then, telling boys to defenestrate the girl was over the top. That's assault and battery, and the boys and the teacher should do some serious jail time for it.

These kids show no respect for authority, but when they push a teacher beyond the breaking point, their parents stand at the ready to sue the pants off the school and to destroy the career of the teacher.

And people wonder what has happened to our education system.
