I have another observation that I'd like to throw in the mix... that is that his DD-214 does show the Bronze and Silver stars as authorized.

Assuming that the DD-214 was issued contemporaneous with discharge... that makes it even more unusual that Lehman would be signing the citations. There's no date to show when the 214 was typed up, and I can't make out the form revision number at the bottom.

There is a DD-215, though, which is used for corrections and revisions to the 214. It changes a couple of his other service ribbons and adds a couple of awards from the Republic of Vietnam. There's no date on the 215 either, but it is typed on a form that has a 2000 rev code.

I'm not sure what this means, but it sure doesn't make a lot of sense. If he had the stars on separation... why did it take so long for the citation to come through?

Go to this site and look at the document for Kerry's bronze star.

It is supposedly the original yet it is different from the one his campaign released.

The admin pulled my post. Should have read it first!

An earlier post by brother fReeper Moondoggiehttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/11225 63/posts caught an interesting observation on John Kerrys war record. He notices that the signature on both his Citations resembles the signature of Secratary of the Navy John Lehman Secretary of the Navy from Jan 31 1969 - May 4 1972 and not from Sec. of the Navy John H. Caffee who was the Secretary of the Navy during Vietnam (Feb. 5 1981 - April 10 1987)

Thanks to a little Photoshop work, I took both of Kerrys accomodation letters for Bronze and Silver Stars, cutout the signature, ruduced down the transparency on one of the letters, lined both of them up (which is why you see it blurry with the exception of the signatures.

An Exact match, only problem is that they look like a signature from John Lehman Secratary of the Navy under Ronald Reagan and not John H. Chaffee Secretary of the Navy under Nixon

(Thanks Velveeta for the excellent find!)

Both appear to be stamped signatures, but as you can see theres a big problem. Are there any fReepers that can either explain this with proof or is Kerry pulling a fast one?

You're right, in my opinion. There is no doubt in my mind that the signature says Lehman.

It's not the only time Kerry lost track of his chain-of-command. He's complained more than a few times that "Nixon sent me to Vietnam," but the plain fact is that in November of 1968, LYDON BAINES JOHNSON was the President.

I FOUND IT!

I have John Lehman's signature on a Navy Unit Commendation received by the USS Saratoga CV-60 in 1986.

I am scanning it now...but I will save you the suspense:
IT IS IDENTICAL TO THE ONE ON JOHN KERRY'S SILVER STAR!

I pointed this out a few days ago and several times since. If you notice, both Zumwalt and Lehman signed the same citation. If you check Kerry's DD-214, it is noted that he was awarded the Bronze Star. I assume what happened is that Kerry never received the medal. More than likely, he realized it when he was running for the Senate and initiated a request to receive it. Hence Lehman signed it so he could get the medal again, which is odd since it was not necessary to do that. Maybe that was one of the medals he threw away

Another issue: Kerry must have requested an amendment to his DD214. The amendment (DD215), among other things deletes the Vietnam Service Medal and replaces it with the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. The date of this amendment is March 12, 2001!!!

What I glean from these two examples is that Kerry is caught in a time warp. He is totally obsessed with Vietnam and his decorations. I can't imagine anyone going back and amending their record that way. What could possibly be the purpose? This is sick. I would also add his recreating and filming his "battles" while being assigned to Vietnam and the Vietnam shrine he keeps in his home. It is all a case of image building, but what I find bizarre is the fact that he believes that he really is a "highly decorated war hero."

You know what? I think it's a big mistake to go down this road with Kerry's medals and service. It was a mistake for them to do it to Bush and it's a mistake for us to do it to Kerry. All we are doing is drawing attention to it. I would rather that Kerry be the only one to drone on about it. He does a better job of making himself out to be a total fool than we ever could.

Here is the Navy Unit Citation I received on the USS Saratoga in 1986. That signature looks familiar.

I don't find any reference to Kerry's Bronze Star in his Senate testimony on April 22, 1971, though Senator Symington brings up the Silver Star and the three Purple Hearts.

I want to know why Kerry was given security clearance October 29, 1965. He was still in Yale.

Kerry was elected to the Senate in 1984, in the middle of John Lehman's term as Sec. of the Navy. Could it be that he bugged Lehman to get the medal? Even Sec. of the Navy listen to Senators.
