How come the paperwork on Kerry's Bronze Star Award is signed by John Lehman, Sec. of the Navy????
In addition, the date Lehman (supposedly) signed it is not on the document.
Did Kerry not get the award when Chaffee was Secretary of the Navy? If not, why not?
Did Kerry get the award 15 years late?
Or is the paperwork a "sham" and somebody made a big booboo?
I'll post the document as soon as I find it again. Maybe somebody here has it bookmarked? And, if there's already been a thread on this that I missed....please direct me to the proper thread.
Thanks!

To be fair... there's no evidence of outright fraud in any of this. What we have, though, is a very odd circumstance. At the very least, I think it may be fair to say that his records were "prettied up" in anticipation of candidacy. Everything in there is likely entirely legitimate.
Quite true. I get the distinct impression however, that his whole military service was intended from the beginning to be a prop for a cynically manipulated image- solely for his future political career. He decided very early on that he wanted to be a professional politician. Remember that in his college yearbook, he tried and tasted both the Republican side and the Democrat side, as if he was trying to decide which would be easier to gain influence in.

While the event and date are the same These 2 Silver Star Certificates have DIFFERENT writeups. Does the entire CoC have to write an citation for the President?

I'm thinking it is a legit replacement citation issued when Lehman was Sec of Navy. It probably is a rubber stamp signature. Mr. Kerry probably burned his original citations or threw them over the White House fence!
Again check out the folowing link for Service Ribbon Replacement program;
http://www.amervets.com/replacement/nmos.htm Note the following passage (well down the page)
"Establishing Authority
The Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon was estab-lished on September 17, 1968, by Secretary of the Navy John F. Lehman, Jr. and announced in OPNAVNOTE 1650 of June 3, 1987."
This site is not referring to Bronze star but if you look on the site you will find a link to the Bronze and Silver Star replacement citation pages.

I don't doubt for a moment that the scumbucket finagled something. Here's my guess .. he did throw his medals on the capital steps and then asked to have them replaced and that is why Lehman's name is on the document
Wasn't it his Senate Office were those medals showed up again?

It is not unheard of for awards to be delayed. Teddy Roosevelt won the CMH, awarded by Clinton.
But was the CMH on Roosevelts DD-214?

...he would have to resign from the senate in disgrace and face criminal charges. Nope, he's a Rat. A Massachussetts Rat, at that. He could walk down the street and assault every third person at random. The media wouldn't report it.
I take that back. Actual, four-legged rats can't help being what they are.

I pointed this out a few days ago and several times since. If you notice, both Zumwalt and Lehman signed the same citation. If you check Kerry's DD-214, it is noted that he was awarded the Bronze Star. I assume what happened is that Kerry never received the medal. More than likely, he realized it when he was running for the Senate and initiated a request to receive it. Hence Lehman signed it so he could get the medal again, which is odd since it was not necessary to do that. Maybe that was one of the medals he threw away
Another issue: Kerry must have requested an amendment to his DD214. The amendment (DD215), among other things deletes the Vietnam Service Medal and replaces it with the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. The date of this amendment is March 12, 2001!!!
What I glean from these two examples is that Kerry is caught in a time warp. He is totally obsessed with Vietnam and his decorations. I can't imagine anyone going back and amending their record that way. What could possibly be the purpose? This is sick. I would also add his recreating and filming his "battles" while being assigned to Vietnam and the Vietnam shrine he keeps in his home. It is all a case of image building, but what I find bizarre is the fact that he believes that he really is a "highly decorated war hero."

Whoa. You mean the award is on his separation papers dated prior to Lehman being SecNav?
Awards are often delayed, but if it appears on a document dated before Lehman authorized it, then there are significant problems.

Click on "Other Replacement Recognitions" near the top to the page on the following website;
http://www.amervets.com/replacement/nmos.htm Looks like with a copy of your service record you can get almost any replacement citation or medal.

I'm thinking it is a legit replacement citation issued when Lehman was Sec of Navy. It probably is a rubber stamp signature. Mr. Kerry probably burned his original citations or threw them over the White House fence! If they are legitimate replacements --- Try this reason on for size.
The Original BRONZE STAR is signed by Admiral Zumalt, Vietnam Commander. There are apparently TWO SILVER STAR Certificates - One signed by Zumalt and then One signed by JOHN HYLAND, Pacific Commander.
Here is the possible Scenario -- Kerry is obviously a GLORY HOUND. Well, his Certs are signed by the Vietnam Commander, but hey he gets the PAcific Commander to issue him a "BETTER" SS Certificate. Still, those aren;t good enough for our "HERO", he wants a BIGTIME Certificate. Lehman announces the REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATE program --Now GLORY HOUND has a Certificate with presented not by the Theater Commander but by the SECRETARY OF THE NAVY!

It's worse than that: His discharge papers (1970-vintage) have been modified with new paperwork giving him MORE HONORS and Vietnam mentions in the year 2000!

I believe the signature on Kerry's Citations are probably correct, he probably ordered replacements that required the current Navy Secretaries Signature.
I think the more important question is John Kerry's post Vietnam military records. He was re-assigned after his 4 month tour in Vietnam, but he was still in the Navy. Methinks when the truth is told, it was John Kerry who was AWOL

Odd part about the Lehman signature, they exactly match. No-one can sign their name the same way every time. Disagree. It is very likely done from a stamp. That part is legit. I have lots of service documents from my time in that are so stamped. The SECNAV would do nothing all day but sign promotion warrants for petty officers and awards paperwork, if it weren't done that way.

No.
He (supposedly) threw his MEDALS over the fence - though now we are told it was "somebody else" loaned him "their medals" to throw.
These are the official, signed paperwork copies written to officially "award" the medal.

"There are TWO Silver Star citations in the PDF from kerry's site, One signed by Adm. John Hyland as CINCPAC... Now, that also is curious as Admiral McCain (the senator's) father was CINCPAC '68-'72"
From Lucianne.com they are following this also.
