[history]
John O'Neill, the Vietnam veteran who took on John Kerry in the 1971 debate on American "war crimes" that was recently rebroadcast on C-SPAN, will be interviewed by Wolf Blitzer on CNN this evening. O'Neill, who commanded a Swift boat in the same division as Kerry -- though for considerably longer -- more than held his own against Kerry during a 90-minute special broadcast of the Dick Cavett Show. Now he is challenging Senator Kerry to continue the debate they began 33 years ago, in an effort to clear the names of the Vietnam veterans Kerry once accused of war crimes "committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

I hope he makes an appearance every news show, and multiple times.Agreed. TV and radio both, for effectiveness.

OK, I went over to DU and they don't even know who John O'Neil is. Then some said, "Oh, he's been discredited." and others are saying that what Kerry did "back then" doesn't matter and they are still all in such denial. That's inbetween them calling CNN a biased Right wing media. Ha ha!! They are floundering all over. And mostly those DUs that are anti war (most all of them) are made at Kerry for turning into a Kerry look-a-like. Kerry is washed up.

I want ALL OF Kerry's RECORDS, including the ones that are STILL at the Pentagon!!!

FOX NEWS giving Hanoi Kerry free campaign speech time.

Ralph Nader, who's now running as the only anti-war candidate, is spearheading the impeachment scheme. He'll lose because that's what losers do.

OMG! From that link:
The campaign could not locate a similar report for Kerry's original Purple Heart. As evidence that Kerry was wounded, Meehan showed The Associated Press a "Sick Call Treatment Record" from Kerry's personal files that included a medic's written note dated Dec. 9, 1968.
"Shrapnel in left arm above elbow. Shrapnel removed and appl bacitracin dressing. Ret to Duty."

Excuse my typing: The DUs are MAD at Kerry for turning into a BUSH look-a-like.

Meehan said although Kerry could have asked to stay in Vietnam,
it was the Navy's decision to request that he be reassigned. Kerry left the country in early April 1969.
Another LIE!

O'Neill's campaign is just beginning. Listen tonight to Paul Schiffer's radio show. He has two Swift Boat commanders on the show, both of whom are going to back up O'Neill that Kerry is lying about his record in Vietnam. Paul Schiffer broadcasts out of Cleveland, Ohio. You can get him on the East Coast at 1220 on the AM Dial -- WHK in Cleveland. The Paul Schiffer show starts tonight at 8:00 PM -- for one hour. The call in number is 888-677-9673. Schiffer is running his show all week on the theme of Kerry's military lies and his anti-American VVAW activity. O'Neill was on Schiffer for the entire 1 hour show last night.

I loved your description of Kerry's Purple Heart wound.
I had 5 kids and injuries similiar to Kerry's were commonplace.

"Kerry is washed up.":-)
Since seeing the rebroadcast of O'Neill and Kerry debating on the Cavett show, I have been wanting to hear from John O'Neill. So happy I was channel surfing and came across this interview. He was terrific!

I was there, on a Destroyer, the same time Hanoi Kerry was.

Really? Return to Duty? Wow... that sure doesn't sound much like WAR HERO material to me. My brother came home in a body cast from Vietnam from the chest down to his ankles. Now, THATs an injury. He was shredded with shrapnel. It still didn't keep him down. He healed, became an active Police Seargent and finished college and makes a great living now. He can't STAND Kerry!
