We all get hot under the collar sometimes. We all lose our tempers. We say things we regret. Then we wish we hadnt said it and could take back.
But sometimes, people say things, and write things, knowing full well they are wrong. They threaten. They menace. They terrorize. And they do so for something as stupid and petty as politics.
An ad in the St. Petersburg, Florida, weekly reader ''The Gabber'' (gotta love the title of that, dontcha?) ran an ad requested and tailored by the Saint Petersburg Democratic Club. The ad reads as follows (the highlights below is mine):
Senator Edward Kennedy is absolutely right when he called Iraq ''Bushs Vietnam.'' But its not only Bush, its his whole damn Bunch Cheney, Powell, Rumsfeld, Rice, Rove, and Ridge.Theyve tried to blame the Iraq war on bad intelligence, on Al Qaida, on terrorists, on foreigners from Iran and Syria. Bush doesnt even know who in the hell were fighting. The Bush Bunch calls the Iraqis insurgents. Did you know that Britain called the American revolutionaries insurgents and traitors? The Iraqis arent insurgents. Theyre Iraqi patriates [sic] who want us the hell out of their country, and we should get the hell out of their country now!
We have Marines and soldiers being killed by the dozens with many more wounded. How many have to be killed before the Bush Bunch is satisfied? How many burial services of our Iraq dead has Bush attended? Any? How many military hospitals has Bush visited to talk to our wounded who have lost arms, or legs, or they eye sight (sic), or combinations of these how many?
And then theres Rumsfeld who said of Iraq ''We have our good days and our bad days.'' We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say ''This is one of our bad days,'' and pull the trigger. Do you want to salvage our country? Be a savior of our country? Then vote for John Kerry and get rid of the whole Bush Bunch!
Please make a donation of ANY amount of money you can afford and send it to John Kerry for President, Inc. 901 15th Street, N.W., Suite 700, Washington, D.C. 20005. Do it NOW. Thank you.

Now, Im pretty sure that line above about taking Rummy and shooting him has got to be illegal. It is certainly uncalled for in civil discourse. And yet, Ken Steinke and Edna McCall of the St. Pete DEMS believe that their idea of open political debate is to assassinate the Secretary of Defense. Which is exactly what they are doing. Apparently with the blessing of the John Kerry campaign, according to the St. Pete DEMS veep.
Now, imagine if you will (and Im making a hypothetical case here, folks, not an actual threat) that I said ''we should take John Kerry and shoot him'' or ''take John Kerrys Defense Secretary (Hanoi Jane, perhaps?) and shoot her.'' Wouldnt the First Amendment cover that? Well, lets just say that I would (rightly) have visitors at the front door of my house wearing black suits and sunglasses (at night, no less), escorting me to a federal facility for a five year in-house course in gravel making.
Now, I dont like John Kerry, and I like Hanoi Jane even less. However, I wont threaten violence against them, or anybody else for that matter. Nevertheless, Ken and Edna seem to think its both hunky and dory to shoot Rummy. I wonder if theyd do the same to the rest of the ''Bush Bunch'' as they call them. I wonder how such hate could be fostered over a disagreement over political policy.
Or perhaps theyre still honked off about losing the 2000 election. This is Florida were talking about.
There is something sick about the hatred you see from the lib/dem/soc/commies. If youve ever visited the DemocraticUnderground.com site, youll see what I mean. For a short time, though, because if you post anything to the right of Kennedy, Hellary, or ''Hanoi Jean'' Kerry, youll be banned. Considering the language the allow on that site, youre probably better off getting booted. They swear ALMOST as much on John Kerrys official website....
I hope that Ken and Edna will switch to decaf for a while. Perhaps while they are breaking rocks in Leavenworth, theyll calm down a bit. The nice part is that after theyre convicted of a felony, they wont be allowed to vote anymore. At least, not legally. Course, that never stopped the lib/dem/soc/commies before.
Oh, if youd like to contact them and tell them your opinion of their ad, the area code for St. Petersburg is 727. Enjoy!

You're not entirely correct with this.
They don't want YOU, an individual, to have a gun. But the elite that they trust are fully entitled to "protection" for themselves.
Everybody move along now. Nothing to see here!
What do expect, though? The Dems whole campaign is based on hate and anger -- sooner or later some of the leftist fringe were going to go overboard.
My only fear is that this is but the first sign of a large instability.
I swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
BRING IT ON!
