I wonder how Ronald Reagan and his agents thought about a crazed movie star fan? Hmmmm?

We have all used figure of speech in our comments about political leaders we do not like....Has that really been an actual incitement to violence?I don't use such "figures of speech." And too one who is already unhinged (applicable to many on the left)it certainly could be a call to violence.

I just called the head rat's office teddy boy. The guy who answered didn't know anything about it. I asked if teddy advocated the assasination of the Sec.of Defense? He said of course not. I told him that teddy's name was the first name mentioned in an ad calling for it. I told him it was all over the internet and the radio and will be on the news tonite. While we were on the phone he found it and couldn't believe it. It was classic. I then began to laugh and couldn't stay on the phone. I said that the news tonite will be a lot of fun. In fact, one must be reasonable afraid of the actual threat of physical harm There are people in jail today for sending letters to the president claiming they were going to cause harm. The letters never made it to the president, so there is no way that the president could be "reasonably afraid" of actual physical harm. But regardless, they are in jail.

Actually, not that much of a difference.
Look, there is plenty to criticize in the ad. The fact that they use a figure of speech to attack a member of the cabinet is small potatoes compared to the rest of the fallacies they use.

Know your feeling -- my Mom is 80 and she said it is the worst she has ever seen -- she cannot believe anyone would vote for one of these DemocRATs.

A figure of speech would be "Put him up against the wall!"
When you add "and pull the trigger!", you progress from figure of speech into communicating a threat.
There are laws against that in this country.
The fact you can't see the distinction is disturbing.

Look, the people that listen to and support the democrats are pretty mentally unstable. I believe they were hoping one of their supporters would actually do this.

Perhaps...although that would require someone now actually attempting to shoot Rumsfeld.
