I could not get the pictures to work, but you should go to the original source. It is heartbreaking to see, but I am filled with pride over the strength of our fighting men.

That is a very moving photo.
God bless these troops, and give them strength for the battle, courage for the day.
Lord, grant eternal rest to this brave young Marine and to all his fallen comrades.

An US Troop helps an injured compatriot away from a burning tank in Falluja, Iraq April 8, 2004. Between 280 and 300 Iraqis have been killed and at least 400 hurt in fighting in Falluja this week as U.S. Marines launched a major mission to root out guerrillas, the director of its main hospital, Rafi Hayat, said on Thursday. |

Here are the photos, directly linked to the ones on The Sun's website. (So you don't have to go visit their semi-porn website to see them!!) -

What sad pictures!! I'm so proud of these guys! And grateful!
A side note --- The URL's of the photos are -

I'll bet I know what your problem was - you probably right clicked on the photo in Internet Explorer and all you got back was a popup telling you the image is copyrighted, right?
What I did was to use Netscape's web browser (free download from netscape.com if you don't already have it) and when I right clicked on the images I at first got the same annoying popup, but then when I closed that popup it was immediately replaced with the rightclick menu I wanted to see, and I could then do a "Copy Image Location" to put the URL of the photo into the Windows copy buffer ready to be pasted to anywhere I want it. (Or I could have saved it from the rightclick menu or whatever else).

Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will.
Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones and Thee without shame or fear.
Protect my family.
Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm.
Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance.
Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me.
Make me considerate of those committed to my leadership.
Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.
If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.
Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.
Amen

Good night, Chesty, wherever you are

Not long after I clicked into this thread, my wife looked up from across the room and said "what in the world? are you crying?" I told her no, of course, but she came over, looked at the screen, read the story. "You *where* crying," she said after a moment, and then burst into tears.
This is a powerful, moving story & picture. Thank-you for posting it.
May God assuage the grief of this Marine's family, and comfort them in this time of sorrow. Their loved one fulfilled the motto of the USMC to the uttermost: *Semper Fidelis*--Always Faithful.
Rest In Peace, fallen warrior.

Words fail me regarding these photos, the strength and courage displayed by these young men is almost beyond comprehension.
I only hope and pray that this country can do right by those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom and those who are still in the fight.
God Bless the troops and their families, especially those who lost loved ones.

Keep up the good fight, we're with you all the way!

Our 17 year old son just said, "dad, I have tremendous respect for the military..."
He realizes the risks and sacrifices our soldiers take. I am sure he understands that tonight, his prayers, our prayers and your prayers go out to hundreds of families across this land who will not have a loved one return.

...but I am filled with pride over the strength of our fighting men. One of my employees came into my office today to give his 2-weeks notice. He is joining the Army and leaves for Ft. Benning, GA in 4 weeks and wants to be a Chinook helicopter repairman. He's married with his first child on the way. He's a great kid and I pray for his safety and the safety of all of our military men and women. May God bless them.

These men humble me. I honor them. I pray for them. May they be rewarded for their sacrifice. I will never forget them.

God bless them. The Good Lord welcomes those who fought on the side of right and good, I just know.

My son and I just spotted the picture on Drudge...so sad, so poignant
I hope now of these men are subjected to the liberal press and the biased, ugly stuff they are saying about their Commander-in-Chief and his administration

The winter will lose its cold,
as the snow will be without whiteness,
The night without darkness,
the heavens without stars,
the day without light,
The flower will lose its beauty,
all fountains their water,
the sea its fish,
the tree its birds,
the forest its beasts,
the earth its harvest -
All these things will pass before
anyone breaks the bonds of our love,
And before I cease caring for you in my heart.
May your days be happy in number as flakes of snow,
May your nights be peaceful,
and may you be without troubles.
