I know that...but he made it sound like Bush reluctantly went into Afghanistan instead of Iraq......you *know* he was dying to go to Iraq. Or so "they" say.

An interesting dynamic, then. Sounds to me like the Commission may have the goods on Clarke, and they're getting something out in the open. I believe you are correct
But I'm sure some of the dems on the commission will try to rip into her

Hamilton bringing up Woodward's book....
@@@ Which is not even published yet, right! Nothing like a little inside info for some members of this panel.

When will Washington stand-up to that guy and stop letting him "shake down" administrations for his "insider books" that are all based on self-serving leaks and intrigue. Talk to Powell and Armitage, as they provided much material for the Woodward book "Bush at War"

She just said that following many of the points in "the memo" would of caused more harm than good.

Hamilton is asking about her contention that better domestic info sharing might have been the only thing that could've prevented 9-11. Gee, wonder why we didn't have that, Hamilton?
To: mewzilla
A lot of the people on that panel would have opposed pre 9-11 the same action they're saying now should've been done pre 9-11. That is a great point that needs making big time.
Imagine Bush ordering bunkering airports, placing Army troops in the concourses and making us remove our shoes before boarding.

I wish someone would put this in bold headlines and compare it with the slimey Clinton Administration (including Richard Clarke).
To: savedbygrace
LOL. She got him, his next question was such a lame no-brainer. "What could have been done prior to 911 to stocp the attacks" DUH

Absence of light. Couldn't be dependant on what might have come together - domestic and foreign intel needed to work as one.

"Does anyone else think this will blowback bigtime to the rats because they dragged the war on terror and 9/11 back so prominently into the voter's imagination that they will more likely base their decision in the fall on who they think will better prosecute the war and protect them? Maybe they already had this data from focus groups and tried to use the Clarke campaign to torpedo it early. Too Bad. So Sad. Condi just evicerated Richard and did it with facts."
Call me jaded, but I'm interested to see just how the media maggots (and RATS) attempt to spin this testimony.
