Oh jeez....
If you're going to have an Easter pageant, have the Easter Bunny visit and pass out candy to kids and have an egg hunt.
If you're going to have a re-creation of the Way of the Cross, use performers portraying the actual characters. How hard is this to figure out? Kids of course will get upset over seeing the Easter Bunny be whipped and beaten.
Common sense, people!!

People need to THINK about the response to ill-chosen actions. I agree that Santa and the Easter Bunny have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas or Easter, but to flog the bunny with kids in the audience borders on child abuse.
