WASHINGTON -- It was supposed to be a cakewalk for the American troops invading Iraq. The Iraqis were to throw flowers as the conquerors marched in and took over their country.
That was the fantasy of President Bush's advisers and they sold it to him. Those advisers were listening to the Iraqi exiles, who had an agenda that meshed with the hawks in the administration.
Now we know that while U.S. leaders may consider themselves "liberators," many Iraqis see them as invaders.
Reality is setting in. And the tragic events of recent days indicate we are going to be in Iraq for a long time and with a much larger presence than American officials had first planned for.
With hundreds of Americans and thousands of Iraqis dead, the war is again grabbing the headlines. It was the ambush and murder of four American security company agents at Fallujah on Wednesday and the savage attack on their corpses that reminded Americans of the gruesome realities of Iraq.

Some Democrat from the 911 commission on FOX said that they would be asking Condi about what is being done now to prevent 911 and things could turn political. Lol! I thought the commission was supposed to investigate what led up to 911 and make recommendations. Not investigate what is going on now. I expect them to ask questions relating to national security so she will have to decline answering over and over.

It was supposed to be a cakewalk for the American troops invading Iraq. Typical. Define the straw dog in simplistic terms and proceed to argue against it.
What a vile, loathsome, pathetic little creature she is.

I'd rather spend ten years in a quagmire than one minute being Helen Thomas. Or ten seconds looking at Helen Thomas.

It is sickening that the anti-American left/DNC get every American soldier's dead body and parade it around the media street, yelling and screaming and beating GW Bush over the head with it. It is an offense to the families who lost loved ones and a disgrace to the memory of 9/11.
