US marines pressing an offensive in this Iraqi town west of Baghdad bombed a mosque in the center of the town Wednesday and killed up to 40 insurgents inside, a marine officer said.
The attack came from a jet aircraft at a high angle to minimize the impact, the officer said.
"We wanted to kill the people inside," said Lieutenant Colonel Brennan Byrne.

Ho Ho.
Actually I think they only have 72 and just use them over and over. Just dip them in the renewzit goo and they are ready for another round. They should be getting pretty old and ugly by now - and really busy. But if you are a martyr, why should you care?

I just toured the remains of the Kaiser Wilhelm church in downtown Berlin on Sunday. It made for some very beautiful rubble.

With all the Media hype redirected to the war, the Democraps are beside themselves. They can't demagogue the economy or jobs any more so they are trying to use the war to get media attention again. This only works to enhance the President's position.
Kerry and Kennedy are trying desperately to show the public they know the correct action to take and everyone should listen to them darn it!
The whole time, the war goes better and better and so does the Presidents position with the public. It's so good to watch the media squirm again.....

Up until that point, reports indicated that at least 30 Americans and more than 150 Iraqis were dead in the fighting for the city -- the scene of last week's brutal killings of four U.S. civilian contractors.Nice kill ratio. Need to bump it up to about 12/1 though.
:O)
Hanson makes the point in Carnage and Culture that high kill ratios are common when West meets East.

Good!
Its time these bastards learned that they can't go around killing and maiming and then run into their mosque thinking we are too chicken to take them out.
Thugs and murderers deserve what they get, no hole is deep enough to protect them.

No. Wrong town, wrong faction. Fallujah is in the Sunni triangle, NW of Baghdad. Sadr and company are in Najaf, Shia territory south of the capital.

On another topic, I am daily more convinced Kerry will not be the dem nominee. I can't quite piece it in my mind but he looks unhealthy, sounds insane and is a loose cannon. I think he will shortly remove himself.

Look at the faces & age of these Men who are fighting the battle now... You'll see some tired old eyes in there too. But it's sometimes said that the difference between the Marines and the Boy Scouts is that the Boy Scouts have adult leadership.
I think those young Marines will do a pretty fair job of taking care of each other. Marines always have.

I love Marines. They are such good men. They go in as boys and turn out so well. We owe them a great deal.
