WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States is looking into a report that U.S. missiles hit a mosque in the restive Iraqi city of Falluja, killing about 40 people, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.

"We've seen those reports and are looking into it," a senior Bush administration official said of The Associated Press report, which quoted witnesses in the city.

At the Pentagon, defense officials said they had received no report on such an attack. But one of the officials, who asked not to be identified, said insurgents in Falluja had used mosques in the area to fire on U.S.-led troops and that the troops had at times returned the fire.

I worked with a guy (my ex-boss, really), a muslim who doesn't pray 5 times a day but still didn't eat pork, who moved out of Pakistan because of all the "nuts". He goes to movies, pays his bills, shops, has picnics, goes sailing on the weekends. He's a moderate muslim. I suppose he could be secretly hiding his feelings, waiting for the right moment, but he's been here 20 years and that moment hasn't happened yet since he isn't dead or in jail. I recently was associated with a muslim lady, married, who drank wine and ate pork, and who didn't pray 5 times a day (not sure if its just for the men or not). She said that "Most Iranians are moderate, you see all the crazy people on TV". She thought it was kind of a big deal that she drank wine in front of her mother in law. She chattered a lot and was always buying flashy jewelry - I dunno man, I just can't imagine her with a grenade tucked away in her Coach handbag.

Interesting, as already mentioned, they have no qualms about overunning Christian churches and killing people during worship services. I suspect a major attack against one or many churches in Italy....then at some time in the future...stateside...

Yes, exactly, Islamists terrorists have murdered innocent Christian worshippers in Pakistan and the Philippines; have bombed ancient Christian churches in Kosovo to smithereens, ditto an ancient synogogue in Tunisia while it was crowded with Western tourists.
