I addressed my remarks to the resistance. Not the families wanting to live in peace. I would not temper anything at this point. Some people just need killing. Iraq... seems to have produced a bumper crop of them.

It would personally protect them more than not being armed. Sure, they'd be better able to protect themselves with nukes and missile batteries and helicopters and chemical weapons and such, but what they have is better than nothing. Explain that the coalition and government will hear any written grievances or ideas about Iraq's future if written cogently.

Anyone fomenting or taking part in anything violent, cleric or not, will be severely punished.

These people are demonstrating that they aren't ready for democracy, and in spite of all the "feel-good" rhetoric, it comes as no surprise. The best we can hope for is to create the conditions that lead to the beginnings of democracy -- with a fist in a velvet glove.

Well, it at least shows that people like me who supported a three-state solution from the start were right. The Kurds in Kurdistan could easily be responsible democratic allies. The other two nations of Shia and Sunni control could fight each other all they wanted until they decided it was stupid to do so anymore.

I think he does, and so is the mindset for getting these weapons still in existence. He was very close to getting a nuke, and I find it hard to believe he gave in right at that moment. He may have even given such info on the nukes to some terror groups, and he simply is getting rid of the evidence.

Nonetheless, the Arab world continues to have numerous countries such as Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria working to get nukes, and other WMD.

Yep. Political correctness has paralyzed us and made us incapable of trying to ensure, in any meaningful way, the safety of our troops, and incapable even of defending our own lives at home. I'm just saying it's untenable. It's like socialized medicine. It looks real good on paper, but it is a mess when put into effect. You can't disarm them and expect their support. We have and are taking action regardless of what the "so called" PC and world opinion SEEMS to be saying and so far - so good relatively speaking - we are winning, we are making headway - we are making ground, defensives are being built up - as quickly as possible! When are boys die - ALL OF US want to go drop some very big bombs right away, put our fists down and say - that's it last straw - nuktheplace! Actually, I would hold in Sadr City and conduct a ruthless cordon and search operation in Fallujah. Let Al Jazeerah broadcast the Marine shoot and scoot throughout the whole ME. Let them see what happens to those who f*%k with us.

Besides, there isn't a Shi'ite in Iraq who doesn't want to see Saddam's toadies get what's coming to them. You might even see the Shi'as back off for a while so we can do their dirty work for them.

Chris I saw an article on another site....it seems Sadr had this planned out very well......he has been busing in young men all day to Sadr City......they took over several police stations .......and ambushed the US rescue force.

Sadr told followers to "go terrorize our enemies...."

I agree with all three points. Especially point 3. We cannot allow American servicemen to die to allow sharia in Iraq - it would be a slap in the face of all who were killed or maimed there. That would be akin to allowing Naziism or Bushido to continue to thrive in post war Germany and Japan, respectively.

It's far past time to designate falluja and other shitholes as free-fire zones - latter day Rung Sats. Send in re-composed Phoenix teams and eliminate the muslim pricks. Better yet, stand up a couple battalions of iraqi militia, cordon off falluja, etc, send them in to "cleanse" the place - shatilla and sabra, remember? They know who is who and can do the job. Gloves off - guns up.
