IF her story was true about the previous abduction, the LAST thing she would have done was leave her apt. in the middle of the night ALONE.
This whole thing is B.S.

She is not well and will continue to be confused.
At least she has now been ID'd with a problem and now her family can intercede and get her some professional help.
There is a good chance that she can overcome this with proper meds and care.(and lot's of time)
The important thing is that she was not hurt, no body else was harmed and the truth is known.

They should not waste one more tax dollar on this nut cases claims.I agree. No more tax dollars. However, I'm sure her family has insurance to get her the help she needs. Do you not believe in mental illness? Are you saying that noone has EVER suffered a nervous breakdown?
From all reports from family and friends, this is not a girl who is prone to do this stuff to get attention. She obviously had a nervous breakdown. That is, unless you believe that mental illness is just a falacy and everyone in this world is as perfect as you.

Her parents know this girl. If she's a "stunt" kid, they're not going to spill it. I don't see any of this girl's friends coming out. Sounds like they know her.

I bet drugs are involved somehow. Maybe she needed a "hit" that night, found someone to supply them, then blacked out for a while. When she came around the "abduction" was already news and she freaked out.
Gotta be a secret life going on here.

The important thing is that she was not hurt, no body else was harmed and the truth is known. She has made it less likely that someone will be willing to go search for the next missing coed. She has eroded trust of the community.
The truth is known, but, had there been no camera showing her leaving her apartment, she'd still be lying.

Sorry.
I've worked with too many crazy people.
And I have a sister who is a full blown paranoid schizophrenic.
One of the worst things you can do for a patient or society is to absolve them from responsability.
Too many of them slide with bad behavior because they know they can.
Kick her butt. Hard.

Give me a break. Please point out in my post where I said I was perfect. Is she still having a breakdown? Is that why she changed her lies in midstream?? She is still lying.
To: One_who_hopes_to_know
I am so sorry.

AMen to that! I have a bro-in-law who disapears every few years. The whole family goes berserk, APB's go out, etc. etc. He always ends up back at his mom's with no explanation. No one EVER expects one. He's got them all snookered, IMO.

I think you hit the nail on the head. If she was abducted in February, as was reported, who called in that "missing person" bit. What's really going on here??

I knew there was something fishy with this story. I'm glad she's safe, but why was she leaving her apartment at 2:30 a.m.? I hope this isn't a case of some attention seeker.
To: Beren
So.. you're gonna excuse all crimes committed by mentally ill people? That is exactly what our legal system does in many cases.
The act is inexcusable, but often the perp has no idea of wrongdoing.
Punishments are meant to teach a lesson and prevent crime. So how do you teach a lesson to someone who has no idea that they did anything wrong? No conception at all of the damage done.
I do not understand how you can make statements like that without any regard to motive and ability to discern right from wrong.

If there is mental illness, she might not know what really happened. Lighten up.
