Al Franken-Fraud Air America Radio Link-LIVE THREAD Day 1
Wonkette.com ^ | March 31, 2004 | none given

Posted on 03/31/2004 8:40:31 AM PST by threat matrix

A Wonketeer writes, point your browser here (link) at noon and you will be able to listen to this crap fest yourself.

Don't do it before noon or you will be subjected to more 1950's music than you can handle.

When you think about it, it totally makes sense : Air America the liberal radio network, will not be broadcasting in the DC metro area.. DC went 70 percent for Gore! They don't need convincing.

We suspect that Air America will blow. Then again, it could suck.

Or perhaps it will achieve some mysterious simultaneous combination of the two. And while we are normally unopposed to mocking things that we have no direct knowledge of, this material seems rich.

For those of you who reside in one of the five areas covered by the Air America 'empire,' please send along your thoughts and comments.

I feel like I am eavesdropping on people I don't know. How DO Rush and Sean make us feel like we are participating, even when we are not?

I don't have a complete answer, but I believe they are using a bit of a technique described to me years ago by a DJ on a local Idaho station. His approach was to visualize a single listener somewhere in the audience, and then talk to that one individual. To him, his broadcasting was a conversation with one individual instead of a speech to all. In this way each listener would feel part of the process, even if they had a passive role.

LOL, yeah, I've heard two callers so far and one of the questions was if the 911 report would be available on the net?
That's deep stuff. So far the show sounds like a really bad First Family Rides Again album.

Ha! Al acted surprised he had a call "oh, we have a call?" Sounds like the Rush parody of Tom Daschle.

From his a$$. This guy is so deluded, that's the only funny part. The great thing about Franken is that he is a lousy spokesman for their side-- he is a geeky pr*ck. He is so unctuous and petty, he isn't the kind of guy anybody wants to have a beer with.

If this was a local show in Portland, OR., it would work.

No dude, really, it wouldn't.

You're so right. This show doesn't connect, it doesn't feel immediate and compelling. This is like sitting in a booth in a restaurant next to self absorbed antique lefty douche bags.

"Hmmmm? What happened to the SF Bay Area then .. it's solid democrat territory."

I think the personality type that is apt to do programming and technical admin work have to be skilled in basic diagnostic techniques which use (among other things) IF/THEN logic structures. To be good at it, you need to listen and then eliminate things that have no impact on the target issue.

Liberals are generally 'feeling' based and are generally stinkin' Mac users. They exist in the profession, but are hopelessly outnumbered (except for San Fran.).

Nice move, Michael Moore. The caller nailed you and you punted. You couldn't handle being challenged. Wussy.

Did I just hear Moore blame the civilian deaths in Iraq under Saddam to bombing of their food warehouses and water supplies?

Did the "fake Ann C.'s" (Bebe) "G** Dammit!!" that I heard on the web stream get bleeped for broadcast?

If not, the FCC may be unhappy. Broadcast is not cable.

I heard it while listening to the streaming audio from AM620 in Portland!

Exactly. We've had lunch in upper west side bistros and been torn between moving, leaving or just smacking them silly.

The usual crap about poor morale, suicides, poorly prepared, poorly supplied, etc. Also, they got in the standard crack at Bush in the flight suit (BTW, worn according to Navy flight rules).

My stomach is starting to churn.

Franken just called Bush's Nation Guard unit a "champagne unit."

The lies just keep on coming.
