Likely Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry claimed Tuesday night that he's a big fan of rap and hip-hop music.
The straight-laced Beacon Hill blue-blood who married into the $700 million Heinz ketchup fortune told MTV, "I'm fascinated by rap and by hip-hop. I think that there's a lot of poetry in it. There's a lot of anger - a lot of social energy in it."
Kerry said America's leaders disregard rap music at their peril, telling MTV, "I think you better listen to it pretty carefully because it's important."
Asked about some of the more outrageous lyrics in today's rap songs, Kerry replied, "Do I think some lyrics in some songs have stepped over what I consider to be a reasonable line? Yeah, I do."
He then explained, "I think when you start, you know, talking about killing cops or something like that, it bothers me."
Still, Kerry defended the gangsta rap genre, telling MTV, "I'm still listening because I know that it's a reflection of the street and it's a reflection of life. And I understand all that."

I am beginning to wonder if he is running for President of the United States or student council president with the added benny of being voted most popular kid in class. This guy is stuck at age 17.

Nat King Cole was the greatest in the shear sweetness and timbre of his voice. His nature was just as sweet. There was not a mean bone in his body. My dad and Nat were good friends, and his widow came to my Dad's funeral. My Dad sometimes had to pull strings to make sure he could take Nat to certain restaurants, way back in the dark ages of the 1950's.

I'm fascinated a political party that can bamboozle forty-five percent of the voters nominated a bigger dork than Al Gore to run for the office of President.
Btw, love the new book. My mom, a friend of your Aunt Linda gave it to me. It's great.

Did anyone catch the video of Kerry at the Baptist Mass over the weekend? .. The man couldn't clap in tune with the songs to save his life
Oh Yea .. I can just see him and Puff Daddy hanging out

I don't think you like Kerry much. LOL I would love to see him listen to a rap song and then tell us what was said.

This story is TOO funny. And this thread is really a kick. I'm busting a gut. I can hear Kerry now, on a follow-up: "Me and my homie, Tupak, used to hang. We liked to talk about times back in the hood. Man, I miss him."

Nat King Cole was the greatest in the shear sweetness and timbre of his voice. And the most musically gifted pianist I ever heard. I know of one guy, a Australian guitarist, who plays like he did...a joy to hear.

I said SOME rap, and that white guy Emanem, or whatever his name is, is admittedly more comprehensible than most. As for Kerry, I am just "fair and balanced as always." I can say that now that Foxnews lost their silly little tradename lawsuit. :)

Kerry has already expressed to being a live-long "Dead Head". And, remember the little incident with him pretending to smoke a joint. I guess that should be smoking a blunt.
This guy is a JOKE
