In 1981, long before her husband was elected vice president, Lynne Cheney wrote "Sisters," a steamy bodice-ripper....(Cheney's been silent about gay marriage, although her daughter Mary is openly gay.)... a woman says of her female lover: "How well her words describe our loveor the way it would be if we could remove all impediments, leave this place and join together. Then our union would be complete. Our lives would flow together, twin streams merging into a single river."

The latest stupid ploy.

Does Mrs. Cheney approve of rape as well since that's in the book? Sheesh.

This book was discussed at length during the run up to the 2000 election. It got no traction then and won't this time, either. Neither of the Cheney's will get caught up in the Gay debate, pro or con. Their standard answer to questions on homosexuality is that they will publicly support the president's position as long as they are in his administration and that they love their daughters, both of them.

Now wouldn't it be something to see the morally bankrupt liberals trying to use this against Bush? DemonRATS upset about sexy thrill novels? LOL!!
Heck, if the VP's wife writes steamy novels then it should be worth a couple of million votes from members of the party of no hold's barred adultery and perversion.

If Hillary had written it, instead of Lynne Cheney, it would probably be praised as a literary masterpiece.
To: glorgau
Ahh but the will use it to try and state that Cheny is being FORCE into silence by GWBush. They will spin it into religious zelotry which is supressing the loooooove of the Cheney for their homosexual daughter.
This is more a ploy to shore up their homosexual base.
This also means their base is not shored up and they have to risk inflaming/energizing the conservatives.
The more homosexuals are in the news the more energized the conservatives become against homosexuals.

"How well her words describe our loveor the way it would be if we could remove all impediments, leave this place and join together. Then our union would be complete. Perhaps by some, but not here. We would call for her to be beheaded.

Heh.... If this does anything it will make the Cheneys seem more gay-friendly and maybe get Bush-Cheney a few more votes.

Mssr. rogueleader seems to be posting articles aimed at casting the Administration in a bad light. Here is another example: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1108168/posts . Perhaps that handle should be rougeleader.

If we should condemn Lynn Cheney for anything it should be that in the book she wrote about women in American History the drawing of Hillary Clinton on the First Lady page makes the beast look pretty. I had to search for a real picture to show my daughter that the former first lady is not even remotely as pretty as the picture.
