FR DNS problems...

DNS lookups failing for FR here - no such host. Apparently I'm not the only one, judging from a glance at the Yahoo FR board. Dunno if it's my ISP (Verizon) or what, but I had to manually edit the hosts file to get here. Presumably, if you can post, you're not having this problem, but there are more than a few people who can't post right now because of it...

I'm late to the discussion and sort of disoriented, but I was going crazy. I tried tracert but it came back with no DNS, so I was feeling paranoid -- like someone at DU grew some brains and was doing a Dos attack or something
I did a Google search and didn't find anything, then I remembered that LibertyPost or somesuch has been mentioned where ex-FRs who Opused out go.
Anyway, there is a post on Libertyforum entitled "what happened to FreeRepublic?" One of the posters gave the numeric octet. That thread is:
http://www.libertyforum.org/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=ll_chat&Number=1384018&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=21&part= So what happened? I can't wade through almost 500 posts to figure it out -- but it has something to do with Freepublic.Info?
Bottom Line: I spent the last 2 hours working this problem (I didn't have the yahoo groups or anything to help me).
I am a(n?) FR addict.

I just returned from Victoria, and I loved it. The people, the scenary, all wonderful.
I grew up in Victoria's capital, Melbourne. Great place. That said, I haven't been there for years (too busy exploring other places... like the USA...)

of all days,
ABC (now A-BS) does a hatchet job on Rumsfeld and the Iraq war. Rush was on fire again today. With conveeeeeeniet pre-recorded disguntled former employees of the pentagon AND meeeester Clarke.
Hanity kicked posterior alll over the left.
Hanity even had Ed Kotch on again endorsing voting for Bush.
The media was defeningly silent on Zell Miller's Democrats for Bush. (Look for kerry's Rino's for kerry "me toooo".)
And with all that, NO FR! I could NEVER go back to FR-less media. I would have to restart the Rush-rooms.
Will FR be able to defend agains the more and more agressive attacks as we get closer to Nov? (imagine how angry the leftist will be at the fact of a Bush 2nd term the day after the election)
Perhaps it would be conveninet to include the numeric address on the homepage.

Yeah Charlie, but what are you supposed to do if you're an Aussie addicted to FR? I felt like the world HAD ended for a while there...!

I am doing great, but I think I am about to drift off to sleep as I type. LOL
It's always great to "see" the old situation room folks again!

Although GW Bush's inability to say "nuclear" (a word I mastered at the age of seven) is a tad disturbing... ;-P LOL! I remember that our illustrious Jimmuh Carter said "nukuler" the same way. And he was a "nukuler" physicist.
To: KangarooJacqui
LOL! I know exactly what you mean. I felt so cut off and out of the loop.

Aw, I just didn't read far enough before posting the same thing you did.
