No, I didn't catch the press conference. I had to run out and get food for the animals. Thanks for the update.

NO NO NO NO NO! This is just an intimidation tactic. Don't give in to them. They are scum. Dr. Rice gave them 4 hours of testimony ALREADY!!

Exactly. The commission panel wants to give the public perception that she hasn't given them one second of testimony, because her testimony was held behind closed doors, because of the classified nature of her answers.

During the press conference we were told that Condi had answered all the questions she was asked and would return to answer more. (She was very cooperative) Both side said she was a shining star in this administration, and that they regretted she didn't testify because she was so good.

It would have been great to have surrogates do it. The Kerry campaign is using surrogates--Clarke, Roemer, Ben-Veniste and Gorelick and the mainstream media. This resigned, passive, and defensive approach is useless.
Clarke needs to be challenged on the Sudan--that is his Waterloo. Mansoor Ijaz should hav been encouraged to go to that hearing and blow the roof off of it--that is what must be done. Also, Clarke was the guy who would have been in the position to know that the Islamists wanted to hijack planes and use them as missiles (not Condi or W) and yet when he warned the FAA he just gave a generic hijack warning. He should have been instrumental in working with the Gore Commission in 96 (the possibility of it was known by then) to force the airlines to fortify the cockpit doors and adopt mandatory security measures. That needed to happen. Mr. Clarke allowed Gore to take campaign dough in exchange for not forcing the airlines to do anything re: security. Clarke should have been questioned about letting that happen without speaking out publicly.
This is totally sick how the RINOS let this hearing absolve Clinton-Gore-Clarke and implicate Bush.

Re:
media on major networks tonight: former Bush national security official provides explosive testimony under oath that President Bush was asleep on terrorism relative to the Clinton administration. The $64 question is, will the American people be dumb enough to accept this?
Those who only watch Peter, Tom, Dan, Katie, etc., and hang on their every word, will.
My question to Clarke is: are you lying now, or where you lying then?

I would throw in some praise for Lehman and Thompson near the beginning to get the reader hooked(and because they deserve it) before you let them have it.

Jim Angle just told Brit that when the restriction was lifted, all the reporters that were on that call were notified of the lifting.

Re: the woman on Sean Hannity's program today discussing her involvement with Sudan and Bin Laden
Folks.....I just called her.
She confirmed that she called the Sean Hannity program.....she is the real McElligott folks....the real one. Nobody was impersonating her.
I tracked her down online in various ways. I have been reading online about her involvement in the OBL affair. The Miniter book also confirms her involvement. She was very much a principal folks. Very much.....she was not lying when she said she was involved with this.
If her documents get in the hands of Hannity, this could be big.
She told me to call her back this evening for an interview.

Jim Angle just explained it to Brit! This was a background briefing on a conference call with 5 other newspeople. The NSC agreed the media could use the wording "NSC official" as the source. Jim remembered the interview, dug it out and took the tape to the NSC. They agreed to life the restriction of "NSC official" to "Richard Clarke". So, according to Angle, the same people who put the restriction on, lifted the restriction off, and Fox did not use the tape until then. Jim Angle also said that the other 5 media people were told by the NSC that the restriction had been lifted.
Bob Kerry is full of
