OH, and it was Joe Klein who said just over a week ago on Chris Matthews' Sunday morning show that the bin Laden family flying out of the country after 9/11 WOULD be a campaign issue, and lo and behold Roemer asks non-partisan Clarke about this very issue.

Says he refused, routed it to FBI for approval. Spoke with Dale Watson #2 in FBI. FBI approved flight. What degree of review did of names on flight, or how many were on flight. Now the Democrats are resorting to fearmongering. Their own witness, Clarke, says that the FBI had full knowledge of the Bin Ladens' activity in the USA and it was not an issue.

The lamestream press will be able to ignore it, by not using sound bites from Lehman and Thompson in their news packages.

My guess is that at that time he was lobbying for the deputy position in Homeland Security which he didn't get. After that, he quit.

Folks like who in charge of Government? Clarke?

Why will that be an issue? Just something else to trash Bush with?

I didn't need Rush to tell me that. I've been referring to it for a long time as an attempt to impeach Bush.

Isn't it odd, as Roemer pointed out, that Clarke has such a remarkable memory on many matters but when pinned down he can't seem to recall who said what. Of course, he can rememebr extremely well what Condi heard.

"Virginia doesn't have party registration, and I'm pretty sure we don't party ballots either - so what the heck is Clarke talking about when he says that he asked for a Republican ballot in the 2000 election?"
His answer was a very well coached answer, and if it is a lie then he surely did not expect anyone to listen to his answer.
He seems to think the only thing that anyone wants to hear and talk about is what a horrible job President Bush did.
To: MEG33
Just cause he said it doesn't mean it is true. Do we (FReepers) know if the embargo was still in effect when the flight happened, or was it lifted. If it was lifted by that time, Krintinn may have to make another trip over to the Hart Bldg!! :-)
