A lot of folks I know say in a very forthright manner "I hate the man". No bones about it, and when it usually gets down to it, their hate has something to do with ignorance, arrogance, or a combination of the two. But they can't usually tell me what he's ignorant or arrogant about it.

What I have found weird though, especially in conversations I had just this weekend, is that some of them hate him (for the reasosn described above) and consider themselves solid Democrats, yet seem to have a lot of what would be considered generally Republican ideas (mostly taxes...particularly estate taxes).

Liberals don't hate Bush nearly as much as some Freepers who are Libertarians and Buchanan supporters.

Why not ping them to explain why they hate Bush more than Clinton, Kerry or Osoma Bin Laden?

Put me down as another who believes the Hate is at least 80% based on Bush's Christian faith. The Left hates that. That explains the hatred of Ashcroft as well.

Two words - mortal fear.

Fear of the potential number of appointments to the Supreme Court of the United States of America is a curse to the dim-0-crats. Why? Because this can have the effect of reversing activist judges in their tracks - for generations to come.

[Of course, recognize that with Booby Hatch as chairmen of the Senate Judiciary Committee ... no guts no glory ... so all bets are off.]

Here is the bottom linel

The Democrats care more about winning in the White House, then the war on terror. The defense of this country is not their number 1 priority. Plus the Liberals are still upset about the 200 election.

I have some theories on this:

True liberals live in fantasy. They want a world that will never exist. President Bush's vision of a world that is safer for America does not gel with people who don't understand the way the world works.

Lefties are cowards. The same people who don't think we should go after terrorist organizations and states also don't think we should be allowed to defend ourselves with firearms. These people would rather hear about a woman being raped than a woman shooting her would-be rapist.

Liberals are closed-minded and ignorant. While this phenomena is not exclusive to liberals, how often have you heard a liberal say: "You can't convince me of...".

Other points:
I have NEVER met a self-proclaimed liberal who had a happy home life. Not that there aren't any, but I have never met ONE.
I have NEVER met a lib who had a realistic grasp of economics.
I could go on, but this these points reflect the complete opposite end of the spectrum libs are from President Bush.

Put all the other potential reasons aside.

This is about POWER. Nothing more, nothing less.

Liberals seek a sort of Utopia where they would each hold the power of God in their hands. They deny God, because they wish God's authority for themselves. You cant question them, you cant reason with them. They are omnipotent in their own eyes and if you don't agree with them or acquiesce to them, you are evil.

Bush represents all that would keep them from their ultimate goal. They would rather see him dead, than live in a world where the kind of values that Bush defends hold sway over the world.

The Bush-haters that I know fall into several (overlapping) classes:

1. "Bush is stupid," comes mostly from those who knew him or his classmates while at Yale; these have no confidence at all in Bush's decision making ability and thus distrust him.

2. "The War in Iraq inhibits the fight against terrorism," comes mostly from those who supported the Afghan campaign, but do not believe that Iraq was a big supporter of al-Qaeda. They believe that resources used against Iraq should have been used searching for bin-Laden.

3. "Bush's Tax Cuts favor the Wealthy," comes mostly from the old-line socialists who believe that the government should run everything.

4. "Bush stole the election in Florida," comes mostly from Democrats who need this myth just as the Republicans needed the myth that "Kennedy stole the election in Illinois."

5. "Bush is the tool of Foreign Interests," comes mostly from the Buchannan-Gebhardt populists.

In their minds, W is not hip. The smirking, the mangled words and traditional values drive them nuts. Making matters worse is that W is successful pushing his agenda.

W. and RR have this silly notion that there's a definite right and wrong. To make matters worse, they both know which is which. The Libs only see 'shades of gray'. There's no good or evil, just different.

Liberals hate Bush because they think he's a simpleton who never deserved to be president. Besides the 2000 election, Bush speaks in absolutes, were everything liberal is situational and relative. They really hate his God-fearing beliefs, especially in Good and Evil...were liberals see all sorts of shades of gray. They hate Bush because Bush...and people like him, know who "they" are. Ironically, it is their hatred that is only exposing their true beliefs, even more.

They hate him because he is NOT a socialist!

America right now is like one big dysfunctional family with 1 good parent and 1 screwed up parent.

The good parent wants the children to be responsible , manage their own lives and be responsible like it has always been.

The bad parent wants to take care of the child, pay for everything, tell him how and when to do everything. And if the child doesn't want to this bad parent will do it for them, he wants to spoil the child. (The Disneyland Democrat Dads)

This is why they hate Bush - Bush is forced into playing the bad guy (parent) by the Dems who want to give them everything. Of course some idiots are going to choose free goodies over hard work.

They hate Bush because he epitomizes everything they hate - a white Christian male, who takes his religion seriously and loves his country. The topper is that Bush stands in their way to the halls of power and its driving them insane.

Normally they could conceal their hatred for this country long enough to get elected, but now they start talking and the hate and anger just pours through.

And its not like Bush is mean, despite their claims. Bush never attacks anyone and in fact let Kennedy and the democrats write the education and farm bills.

Why do they hate President Bush?

I just recently asked leftist this very thing, and after stuttering a bit he said (paraphrasing)...."uh......abortion rights.. .....and he stole the election. .....and he's only concerned about making money for his rich friends and associates in the oil business. .....and he's destroying the environment."

What it comes down to is that the left is out of power, and they just can't deal with it.

For spending money like a Democrat and expanding government like FDR.

For throwing the gates open to illegal aliens and letting Vicente Fox have his way with the U.S.

Those are decent starting points. Of course, it may depend on whom you are referring to as they.
