Counter-rally planned to show respect and support for our troops (Fayetteville, NC)
Press Release | March 17, 2004 | Tax Relief

Posted on 03/17/2004 4:24:26 PM PST by TaxRelief

FAYETTEVILLE, NC.–The Old North State Chapter of Freerepublic.net is pleased to announce that they and several other groups will be rallying together in a show of respect and support for our troops, our veterans and our country. Veterans, military families and all who support the efforts of the United States of America, in liberating the people of Iraq and in the war on terrorism, are invited to join us in Fayetteville on Saturday, March 20 between 11:30 AM and 4PM.

Freepers from VA, SC, NC and Washington, DC; members of Rolling Thunder ®, Inc; various Veterans groups; military wives and others will be gathering in response to a United for Peace demonstration, that will be running concurrently in the same location.

Freepers are asked to come at 10:00 AM to the grassy knoll near the old CVS, across from Freedom Park. The main event will take place at Rowan St. Park, Woodside Avenue, Fayetteville, NC. This rally, like all Freeper rallies across the country for the past six years, will be peaceful and educational.

Rolling Thunder, Inc. is a registered Veteran Organization that focuses on POW and MIA issues.

Freerepublic.net: A New Political Force

December 2000 marked a subtle turning point in American history, as citizens from the right side of the political spectrum joined forces all across the country to defend the legitimate election of President George W. Bush. Protests in more than 250 cities were organized on the Free Republic Forum -- the first conservative protests ever to occur on such a scale. Subsequently, Freerepublic.net was formed to help ensure that grassroots activists will be able to respond quickly and effectively to any future threats to our Constitutional rights.

Free Republic members have had tremendous success exposing the tactics of the Communist front groups-- such A.N.S.W.E.R., Code Pink, and United for Peace-- who present themselves as pacifists and populists, but use the “cause du jour” to further their own anti-republican agendas.

By harnessing the power of the Internet, the Free Republic Forum gave birth to a new level of grassroots activism that demonstrates how dedicated citizens can effect change by awakening and mobilizing the vast numbers of Americans who still support the rule of law.

The product of our desire to do something meaningful to retain our God-given freedoms is the Free Republic Network.

At the Grassy Knoll next to CVS at the corner of Hay St and Franklin at 10am on Saturday, March 20

DIRECTIONS TO FAYETTEVILLE, MARCH 20th:

Parking The others guys will be parking at the Amtrak station, located on Hay st, at the Aiborne and Special Operations Museum, and at the Radison Hotel. Locate us at the abandoned CVS, then park anywhere that's legal.

From the Triangle - take I-40 to I 95, take exit 56 (95 business), right on Person St. This goes to Market House, located in a traffic circle. To park, follow the circle around and take Hay st to the Museum, Amtrak station or Radison Hotel.

The Press release has only gone to the major outlets, AP and NC local papers and stations. It has not gone to any in SC.

You're welcome to get it out there. :)

Freedom Park is a new park that is across Bragg Blvd. from the Airborne Museum. It is at the corner of where Hay St. crosses Bragg Blvd. and Robeson St. Come into Fayetteville at the exit for Hwy 24 and go west into Fayetteville. Stay on that road for a good ways. You might want to stop at a restaurant on your way into town and use the restroom facilities. You will come by a Hardees and Wendys on the left and Mi Casita and a barbecue place on the right. After resuming your trip (heading west), you will come to a large intersection. On the left is a CVS. Go straight on through the intersection and move over into your left lane of the two. Go over the bridge and you will be at Bragg Blvd. You will turn to the left. You will see the Airborne Museum. The Freepers will be on the corner diagnally(sp) across from it.

Dear Fayetteville-area Freepers,

Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to return to FreeRepublic
this Saturday afternoon with new taglines, formed in the heat of battle,
dripping with satire and mockery, eloquent in their being, barbed and
bloody, grammatically correct, and low-carb.

Good luck!   Bump!

Does your tagline imply that Kerry is bending over for the homosexual lobby?

Just kidding. I accept the mission, Sir!
