...they don't deserve the slaughter that the Islamofascists wish to inflict on the world...As to the world, I agree. As to the Eurocrats, I wouldn't lose any sleep worrying about their safety.

No --- you won't hear sobbing --- they're all so busy putting on their burkas --- the men and women --- they don't have time to cry.

Three levels-
"1st level, everything you've seen tossed at Israel, against similar targets- defenseless men, women, and children. Anyplace, anytime, anyone.
2nd level- biological... the anthrax attacks were the precursor.
3rd level, dirty nukes, surplus nukes ( the second not too likely, IMO ) or possibly fuel-air effect bombs in harbors-- the Big Bang, in other words."
I don't know but I disagree. If the terrorists start your 1st level, the won't get a chance for levels 2 and 3. If they start bombing civilian targets on somewhat of a regular basis, the average american citizen won't put up with it. It really would be open season on muslims. Scores of muslims would be going back to their homelands because of the average american backlash. Mosques would be burning all over the country. I would suppose the FAA would deny all flights from countries that support terrorism, etc. So level 1 could never get to level 2. Expect a level 2 or level 3 first.

I hope we let Islam have at western Europe --- we should have our allies in Poland, Israel, India and other such countries which are willing to fight for freedom. The rest can sink into Islamic poverty and obedience.

The strength of terrorism is our unwillingness to kill any of the people who give aid and comfort to terrorists.

Massad Ayoob's code, not Ashcroft's. Amen. Even though I don't expect my sleepy Southern town to attract enough attention from terrorists to be really heavily armed, I always have "something better than a pistol" in my trunk. Just in case I need such a thing.

I disagree, while we don't know when or exactly where they will strike, they always threaten and strike what they say. In OBL's last message from Dr. Z. in Feb. singled out France because of the headscarf ban. Bush was taunted. In light of Spain (who was also mentioned) I would take this serious. EU elections are coming up as well as German presidential.
Most people are too busy making fun of them when they send videotapes, or later after attacks, critizing the victims countries reaction, while they are planning the next attack. Meanwhile the keystone cops are looking under every old ladies chair (ETA did this!) ignoring the elephant.
On a world stage I fear we will never be united like they are against the west right now.

Yup I was right, it was about the Head scarf ban. Looks like a Chechen threat
PARIS, March 16 (Reuters) - A letter from an Islamist group threatens to plunge France into "terror and remorse", the newspaper which received the letter said on Tuesday.
The letter linked the threat to the French ban on headscarves in state schools, the deputy editor of daily Le Parisien Jacques Esperandieu told Reuters.
The letter was signed by a group calling itself the Movsar Barayev Commando, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
That appeared to be a reference to Movsar Barayev, who organised the Octover 2002 Chechen commando raid and hostage-taking at a Moscow theatre that ended with 129 dead. He died in the special forces raid on the theatre.

There was no threat or terror warning prior to 9/11, the first WTC bombing, the blast in Indonesia, the Spanish train bombings .....
none of them. Terror happens, and it happens at unpredictable times.
It's not that I'm not taking this latest threat seriously (far from it, in fact), it's just that the next major attack could happen tomorrow, next week, or next year .....we just have no idea. And it always happens when we least expect it to.
To: finnman69
I thought France was insulated from terror attacks because they were against the War in Iraq.Silly, everyone knows Iraq had nothing to do with Al Qaeda. I'm sure I heard that somewhere - CBS, NY Times, or somewhere.
