Within the last hour 5 missionaries were shot in Mosul, Iraq. Their condition is critical and we need to pray now that the military will be able to get to their position and take them to the military hospital in Baghdad. One of them was able to call leadership that he was in and out of consciousness himself. The next several hours are critical! Please be on your knees for these 5 people. Please pray for God's hand to sustain them and to guard their lives.
Thank you for your prayer during this time. Further updates will be sent as soon as we learn more information.

Do you say that on every thread you have "no comment" on?
How callous.

The penalty for converting or attempting to convert a follower of the "Religion of Peace" is death. The penalty for a Muslim who allows himself/herself to be converted from that horrific cult to a legitimate religion is also -
death.
Given that, and given the instability and turmoil in that region, I don't think Christian missionaries should be there now. They can only add to the overall chaos and problems.
My prayers are with these people and their loved ones, I hope they survive, and I sincerely wish they return to wherever they came from and stay out of Iraq until the government there stabilizes.
Religion of Peace - SURE!!!

Prayer Bump!
To: RightOnline
My prayers are with those injured and I send condolences to the families of those killed.
But, at the risk of starting a flame war, I am not sure that this is the right time for Christian missionaries to be in country. We are trying to pacify a country with a history of violence and a suspicion of westerners, especially westerners who might be challenging their religious tradition of Islam. Now I believe that Islam is NOT equivalent in any way, shape or form to Christianity, and is certainly not the "Religion of Peace". However, in the current climate missionaries serve as a focus for insurgents within the local population. They then target American soldiers and civilians who are trying to disarm the country so as to allow a fledgling democracy to take root.

"I don't think Christian missionaries should be there now. They can only add to the overall chaos and problems."
What an absurd statement.
We certainly shouldn't have missionaries teach "love God, and love your neighbor as yourself" (the first and second greatest commands per Jesus Christ). That would surely cause chaos in the Middle East and Iraq. Given that there is plenty of chaos and problems there now do you think this novel approach just might help? Or is "love you neighbor" too radical a position for you?
