I was at the rally. I have several photos of the aggressors and their obscene signs. The police absolutely refused to do anything despite the obscenities and hostility displayed by the invaders. They did not stand outside the reserved park, they stood right in the middle of the crowd. I had to move my family because we felt threatened. This woman went to the police and asked them for help and they refused. When a protestor got in her face she simply pulled down the bandana (ala Palestinian rock-thrower) cover his face. And SHE got charged with assault.

We'll watch this closely and see what the police and DA are made of. If they side with these crackpot protesters, Freepers will torch the media fire.

I love the media war, this one is like a slow pitch right down the middle.

Is there any difference between this act and tearing the hood off a KKK member?

The global left's strategy of wearing masks at rallies (some of which are used to protect against tear gas as well as to obscure identity) is something city councils need to consider when granting permits.

I think that one city did take in account the iron pipes that were used to hold "protest signs" (and that made convenient weapons against police/counter protestors.

And SHE got charged with assault.

Rightfully so. It is illegal to put your hands on someone in such a way.

What is up with the use of masks?

Are they ashamed to show themselves? Afraid of the repurcussions in their communities/employers? Are they trying to be more threatening by similating a terrorist appearance we often see on TV?

Just like other groups who hide their faces - I think they're a bunch of puXXXXX. They're not bravely representing whatever nonsense they believe in.

Except when it involves incitement to imminent illegal action. I think howling at 81 year-old granmothers for the destruction of the US falls into that category. :p

All the better for these toughs to intimidate 80 year old women with.

Although in this case they didn't even accomplish that much.

Some revolutionaries.

Criminals and/or thugs with intent to intimidate.
Plus if mommy and daddy saw what they're little "darlings" are doing with their free time instead of going to classes, they'd more likely be cut them off from funding.

The "lead" guy (on the right) carrying this is wearing a mask obviously didn't want this sitting in his FBI file. The man on the left side of the sign wears no mask (and has been identified).

In fact it is the identity of the man on the left that proves that this was not a "stunt" by FReepers or the Protest Warrior or anyone else trying to impune the antiwar movement. Some on the left did admit to knowing he was "legit".

I don't think these agitprop protesters would be permitted into any banks or convenience stores wearing their masks. They should be denied a permit to gather in a public place on the same grounds.

What good are surveillance cameras on public transit if terrorists are permitted to obscure their identity with face masks?

I'd be embarrassed to press such charges against an 80 year old lady. Should be fun to watch the court proceedings. Poor wittle pwotester, did you get whiplash? LOL!
