What do you say?

As I said, "No doubt room for improvement".

I believe we're both in the same canoe. The bow paddler and the stern paddler have different functions but they better coordinate their actions because we're in some hellish rapids with both of us in danger of capsize.

"I guess you fall into that category that prefers to know nothing about it's northern neighbour"

Don't guess; read. Or, get someone that can read to do it for you, Eh!!.

I have provided the entire national history of Canada on this very thread.

"I believe we're both in the same canoe."

Yes...both in the same canoe.

We paddle, we repair, we gaurd, we protect, we sacrifice; you ride, you eat, you spit on us & our children.

Yes...both in the same canoe.

Sorry, I do not feel that we are friends, or connected, or anything. Though I do not have much contact with the average Canadian Joe, the remarks coming from your elected officials is enough for me to shun Canada and not care what you guys think about us. I see that you live under the umbrella of our protection and yet spit upon us whenever you please. It's a free world - for the most part - and you have every right to do so - rights that are provided by our military not yours. As once stated in a movie - I rather you just say thank you and be on your way!

Indeed. Bump! Canada is no friend of America. Close the border now and secure the land corridor to Alaska. And close the St. Lawrence seaway to them as well.

You forgot all the brave Canadian souls laid to rest at Normandy.

The Canadians I've served with are outstanding, conservative individualists. Outside of the military, I don't know. Mainstream Canadian press hates Alberta and treats people from their the same way our press treats conservatives. Canadian news leads with UN stories and now Sesame Street has Kofii ANnan as the guest almost everyday.

"Insult, the last resort of a fool"

A Canadian tales a stand against insult.

Now, that is rich.

It is not generally known that virtually all of the Canadians serving in combat during WW II were volunteers.

Because of opposition to Canada's involvement in the war Canada had no draft until very late in the conflict, and even then draftees were by law exempt from posting out of the country.

So when one speaks of Canadian valor one is only referring to some — mostly non-French — Canadians.

Canada continues to insult me, and my country.

That it angers me would be mysterious to any without a spine. Spare me your show of indignation.

What reaction, to the insults from you fools, did you expect?

Quid, this post does not support your theory. We did not turn our backs, preferring, rightly or wrongly to rely on the U.N as did many other nations. Surely our presence in Afghanistan should count for something. The Spanish election is just one example of how contentious support for the war on terrorism really is. Hell America itself is severely divided as is Canada. Chretien, a stupid politician, a stupid bureaucrat and a few lefty journalists should not and does not define our relationship. You know this so get over it.

'What reaction, to the insults from Canadian fools, did you expect?"

Common sense posting would be nice. Anti-Canadian rants are a dime a dozen.

Not that you're directing this question at me ... but I would ignore the "insults". The insults I've heard are from stupid politicians or individuals swayed by a biased media. Either way, they are not worth your stress. Concentrate on hurdling these issues. Like it or not, Canada is still an ally.
