Why Isn't There a Conservative Answer to MoveOn.org?

I'm new to Free Republic, and I kind of see it as an activist haven for conservatives. But I only heard about it by way of an e-mail link, though once I think I heard Ann Coulter mention it on Hannity & Colmes. I'm sure there are other activist organizations out there, but I have to wonder if conservatives have anything like MoveOn.org. My guess is, no - at least nothing that is visible, or has the backing of huge money from people like George Soros, who I think is a very scary power player. Everyone knows that the Democrats can rely on MoveOn to be its mouthpiece, which means they have a way to get around campaign laws.
I saw an article linked on this site, by Mona Charon, that advises Bush to take the gloves off. If we had a MoveOn.org of our own, with the money to produce commercials, perhaps we could put those gloves on for ourselves. I would love to see some very damaging commercials about John Kerry's post-war record and his voting record. He is a traitor to this country, but all I hear from Republicans is how much respect his service to our country. I would respect it to if he hadn't come back as a traitor. I would love to see some Vietnam Vets step up to the plate on primetime.
Hillary is another problem. We need to crush her. I didn't hear a thing about Hillary's pro-Saddam comments this week until I saw a thread on this site, the article by Oliver North. I would love to see some commercials made by our own activist group that denounces her viciously. Put these rotten people's records in primetime. We must expose them and hit them with both barrels!
If there is an conservative organization that is comparable to MoveOn.org, please let me know, and I'll join up. After that I'll be asking, "Why haven't I heard of you? Is it me? And if you are out there, where are the commercials, the ads, the visibility? Do you have a big power player, an answer to Soros?"
Just some thoughts, and I would interested to hear what everybody thinks.

I have! But you wouldn't believe how inept my mother is when it comes to the computer. She has one and even took one of those video courses, but she can hardly turn the thing on!

I guess that's another case in point for why TV ads are so important. Sad but true. She's going to vote Republican mostly because every time she says something stupid like "Bush wants to take away our social security" I counter with the truth. At least I now have her watching Fox - she's in LOVE with O'Reilly!

I think we would call that the "pretty boy" vote. ;0)

I wasn't attacking you!
But your assumption was that we don't do anything .. and if you're really who I think you are .. you are fortunate you're not standing next to ME!!

That wasn't remotely my assumption! As I said, I'm new to this forum and just wondered what was available out there and wondered why MoveOn.org got all the press and FR doesn't. I got plenty of good answers.
"Really who I think you are" - yeah that's right I'm Hillary Clinton! I'm done with you.

The comments i have read here about this (like "because we have jobs/morals") are fine sounding comebacks but the Facts are that this is one more example of republicans not fighting back."Move on" may be full of crap and may lie but they are defining Bush and going unanswered.
We need a counter punch or we may have 4-8 years of the ultra liberal J.F.Kerry moving us into total socialism.
after have Kerry as Pres for even 4 years America WILL be a socialist country and our military will be under UN control.

I am convinced now there is more that I can do, more avenues open to me than I realized, thanks to everyone who gave me good answers. But I also agree with you that most conservatives don't seem to have the passion that liberals seem to have. When the Democrats were trying to steal the election in Florida I tried to get my Republican friends to go down there and join those who were protesting but they all thought I was crazy (I wish I had known about FR then!) The one comment about liberals running in packs and conservatives being individualists is right on I think, but it doesn't solve the problem.
To: Americathy
I often wondered that too. I would be happy to contribute to an organization that would put on the kind of tv ads that some have posted here on FR.

I'm willing too. If someone can point me in the right direction I'll be happy to donate to that end.

Folks on the right don't have the passion of the left????
You are kidding, right?
I spend every waking, and most sleeping, moments working on one issue or another. And there are many, many more like me who are pretty tireless in the fight. It's just that the Left seems to win more battles because they have a well-oiled press machine that documents their supposed "victories"...............we're gettin' there, though. Keep the faith, my friend. There are many outlets for activism.

Anybody who professes to support Bush .. would never, ever question why MoveOn.org gets all the press.

Passion was a poor choice of words. I'm far more passionate about my conservatism than the liberals I know, but they are more willing to head downtown to march for everything under the sun. So what's the right word?

I have a name for the counterpart to MoveOn.org....NEVER FORGET.org!

I don't know that conservatives aren't willing to protest. I have personally organized dozens of rallies. In fact, I'll be speaking at the rally to counter the Million Moms March on Mother's Day.
I think that conservatives find other ways to accomplish their goals and it doesn't always make the media. Doesn't mean we aren't effective, though, or that we don't make gains. It also sorta depends on what your definition of a victory is. Sometimes even incremental victories can make a huge difference in the overall battle. You just have to keep your eye on the ball.
Look for those organizations that don't just talk about doing things, but actually do them. Words are plentiful in the battle -- we need more trench warriors with to-do lists.
To: ConservativeGadfly
Great advice and I'll follow it. Thanks!
To: ConservativeGadfly
Also I've noticed that the media doesn't give much coverage to conservative marches and when they do, they underestimate counts of the crowds. I came upon a pro life rally and there must have been at least 1000 there, but the next day I picked up a hotel newspaper which reported a small crowd of about 200.

There are a couple.
Protestwarrior.com
and the Brain Freezer...that guy goes into the lair of the beast and confronts them with a digital video camera.
Damn I wish I had his link still. Just stick around, he'll probably have footage of the protestors in NYC.

You claim to be a Bush supporter and then you stated you "wondered why MoveOn.org got all the press and FR doesn't".
I find that impossible to believe. Anybody who supports Bush knows why MoveOn.org gets all the press.
