Call it counterprogramming: 600 posters making fun of celebrities popped up throughout Hollywood during the self-indulgent love fest that is Oscars weekend. "Cult of Personality," one proclaimed, displaying the faces of John Travolta, Tom Cruise and Kirstie Alley, who evangelize for the controversial Church of Scientology. "President of Nothing," said the poster featuring Martin Sheen, who inhabits the Oval Office on "The West Wing" TV series.

Rosemary's baby has grown up and is running Hollywood. One of America's greatest industries has become one of the most destructive. Entertainment titans like Walt Disney, Morrie Ryskind, and Frank Capra have been replaced by people whose idea of a good Christmas movie involves Santa having sex in the back seat of a car with a barmaid shouting '*** me Santa *** me!' People you wouldn't allow to meet your children are spending hours alone with your children. Hollywood, Interrupted describes the misogynist, pill-popping degenerates who now define American culture." Ann Coulter, bestselling author on the book, Hollywood Interrupted.
You will soon own this town (California College Republicans) as the current occupants are proving they are out of ideas. If only that were true, unfortunately the cream does not always rise to the top out in LaLa Land.

Hollywood must be bored of the rings already, because now the buzz is about "The Passion of the Christ's" $125.2 million box-office haul and its implications. Some producers who spurned Mel Gibson when he sought financing are eating humble pie and perhaps scanning the Good Book for screenplay ideas. Awaiting the Oscars show at the Kodak Theatre, Larry Frank, an at-large member of the Motion Picture Academy, even offered a political take on "The Passion":
"If this picture has legs, it's bad for the Democrats."
This explains a lot.

I live in Los Angeles and have been chuckling for days over these posters. My favorite is the one with Martin Sheen, which reads, "President of...Nothing".
