Good grief - you can't let it go ever, can you????

What is it about libertarians that just seems to turn your crank so hard? I'm a life long Republican and my husband is a Libertarian - more times than not he is the more conservative member of our family.

Most of them spend half of their time thinking they are the only ones that are enlightened and the other half of the time bashing Bush and the Republicans.

Same sex marriage
drug legalization
open borders
anti-war on terror

The NYT has no credibility anymore. You might as well be getting your info from some crazy homeless guy on the street.

Maybe some of them do - but none I know personally, including my husband.

pro-private property rights
less government
cutting and gutting the tax code
strong military

Anyone that actually knows anything about Libertarians knows that we can't even agree enough on what we want to put together a coherent political platform, let alone take responsibility for each others' opinions.

Calling us dumb doesn't make you any smarter, but I can understand why would would want to try anyway.

BWAHAHAHA! Nice insult! And almost original, too!

As long as we're trading used insults, did your mom have any children that lived?

[wipes away tears of laughter and remembrance...] Both jokes are almost as funny as when Joey Bishop slayed `em back at Caesar's using them the first time...I tell ya.

What? The only thing running in my veins is blood, jackass. I'd be willing to bet you got at least a five-quart-a-day habit going on right now with PurpleSaurus Rex and the rest of the Kool-Aid Gang, however. And quit snorting the powder...it's not an approved use according to the label, and we know how important it is to you to follow what the government says.

To make it certain you aren't talking about me, I'm not the only one who's enlightened. I just disagree with some people in some ways. Some of them can even rationally discuss their differences with me.

But regarding your comments about 'most libertarians,'

RE: Same sex marriage, I'm agin' it. I think government shouldn't be in the marriage business at all. Let the marriage contract mean something again. Make people sign one.

RE: drug legalization, got me there. But I'm no doper, and neither are most libertarians I've met, contrary to regular comments otherwise. Those insulting insinuations are grating, and worse, pointless. I simply think we provide a real impetus for breaking the law by creating a black market, and to steal some language from the WoD crowd, making minor legal infractions profitable is like a 'gateway drug' for worse lawbreaking, like real, violent crimes.

RE: open borders, almost. I'm actually for something like GWB's plan--but only after we've secured the borders so that everyone who crosses them from another country is registered, and only after we've dismantled the welfare/WoD state that incentives illegal border crossing anyway. Not until after both those steps, though.

RE: anti-war on terror, nope. Not me. Of course, you've not really defined what that is, exactly, either. Kerry would probably say HE's not anti-war-on-terror either.
