Fox News reports what Freeper Ambrose Uncovered (Re:NYT fake sources)
Foxnews ^ | 25 Feb 2004 | Fox News

Posted on 02/25/2004 3:41:55 PM PST by Rokke

Tonight on the Grapevine, Foxnews discussed CBS News reporting on the "massive" conservative revolt against Bush, despite their own polling results which showed Bush with overwhelming Republican support. The question was then asked, "Where did CBS get the idea the conservatives were rebelling? The answer...from the New York Times." They then went on to discuss Ambrose's (they didn't credit him unfortunately) discovery that the NYT's used the same source calling him first a Republican and then two weeks later an independent to support their claim that conservatives were ditching Bush.

Nice job Ambrose. You didn't get the credit on Foxnews, but we know where the best investigative reporting comes from.

I'm guessing he's confusing Taranto's crediting of FR for another item with this one. Taranto credited us for finding Kerry's Republicans are terrorists comment.

Or he is confusing Taranto with Instapundit.

"Later picked up by InstaPundit and Mickey Kaus (they gave credit). Glenn Reynolds then forwarded it on to the Columbia School of Journalism Review (I think), which forced the NY Times to issue a correct. I love the Internet. They would get away with these lies just a few short years ago."

You know, you just made my day...and that's hard to do considering that I just finished installing a supercharger onto my Corvette this afternoon (wonderful first test drive, and I'm about to go out and make another run).

But you topped even that!

Another FR supersleuth appears on the scene.

We are all forever in your debt for your almost instant exposure of the infamous Wilkinson fraud.

From above NY Times article, dated February 22, 2004:
George Meagher, a Republican who founded and now runs the American Military Museum in Charleston, S.C., said he threw his "heart and soul" into the Bush campaign four years ago. He organized veterans to attend campaign events, including the campaign's kickoff speech at the Citadel. He even has photographs of himself and his wife with Mr. Bush.

From NY Times article, dated February 2, 2004:

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/02/03/politics/campaign/03VETS.html?ex=1077512400&en=d1f41dbeaab18901&ei=5070

"I don't think I could vote for George Bush again when I think of the 500 people killed in Iraq and what's happened to the economy in this country," said George Meagher, an independent, who runs the American Military Museum in Charleston and said he now favors Mr. Kerry.

Damn, I missed that. We had a one hour power outage just before the Grapeline started.

I hate when that happens.

I love the Internet. They would get away with these lies just a few short years ago.

From an Ann Coulter recent column:

Liberals simply can't grasp the problem Lexis-Nexis poses to their incessant lying.

That's the quote of the year, as far as I'm concerned.

Speaking of *manufactured* news, after W said yesterday or the day before (or thereabouts) that he appointed Cheney to search for a VP again, and joked about the search results, then said (again) emphatically (sp?) that Cheney is his choice for VP for 2004, Yahoo posted a photo of Cheney today (http://search.news.yahoo.com/search/news/?p=+bush&n=20&c=news_photos) to this effect:

"President Bush and other Republicans are rallying around Vice President Dick Cheney as they seek to quash rumors that Bush might ultimately replace Cheney on his re-election ticket. Some pundits believe that if Bush is struggling in the polls a few months from now as the 2004 campaign moves into high gear, he might boost his chances for re-election by picking a running mate other than Cheney, shown at a Feb. 20 fundraiser. WHAT FUN!!--

A Few "Computer-Savvy Citizens" Deconstruct the "Leftwing Agenda" of some "Politicians," & "ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!!"

Apparently, us "Ordinary Citizens" weren't supposed to "Have an Opinion" on the "Issue!"

The "Pundits" are NOT PLEASED that us "Ordinary Citizens" can, possibly, "Chime In" as they make their decisions.

The "Select Few" find "Democracy" inconvenient!

---They merely PROVE it's NECESSITY!!

More Often than Not, the "Selected Elite" need to be "DE-Selected!!"

There is a "Political Disease" called; "Testicular-Cerebral Inversion,"--FEW "Politicians" avoid It's Ravages!!

Our Political System Depends on the Development of Rational People in Each Generation.

God Willing, Such People will Continue to "Come Forth,"--DESPITE the Cruel Barriers erected by their Ignorant Predecessors!
