I agree with your sister. I say the 12:45 pm show here in Ft. Worth after being at 9 am mass. Nobody moved dead silence, for about 5 or 6 minutes. Let Hollywood produce there usual drivel.

I don't think what he offered was a defense of his father, but an admonishment to Diane Sawyer that she shouldn't tread onto the turf of a father and son. Let's be honest. The left wants the son to denounce his father. No good son would ever do that.So succinct and right on, that it needs to be repeated!
I would never publicly denounce my Father or any family member no matter what they did.
In an Italian family you publicly denounce a member of it, you might as well go bury yourself alive because the Family is Sacrosanct, and now you've become nothing but a pile of dung!
That doesn't mean you don't tell your father in private that he said something ignorant or did something wrong. But I would never offer up a public castigation of any member of my family, especially to please the likes of the people who are demanding that he do so.
They can go pound sand, today, tomorrow and forever! Don't mess with the Family, if you know what's good for you.

I remember hearing a Paul Harvey segment about a young boy of 12 (I think) who was walking home through a real rough section of town one night. He was set upon by a group of hooligans, beaten mercilessly and left for dead. But he didn't die. He survived and spent months in the hospital where doctors had to reconstruct his entire face...
Guess who it was? Yep, Mel.
(Haven't seen this posted, sorry for a double if'n it was.)
I understand that this is an internet rumor. What supposedly did happen was that Mel auditioned for the first Mad Max movie after getting beaten in a bar brawl. In fact, supposedly he left a hospital emergency room early to get to his audition. Allegedly his rough apperance helped him win the part.

I don't suppose it's ever gone through these folks' minds that their Hollywood culture could become as dead as that of the Incas or Aztecs.Good point. I would like to think that centuries from now, archaelogists will unearth strange, gold-like statues amongst the ruins of a smoldering garbage dump that is rumored to have once been a great civilization. They will ponder the meaning of the statues and finally decide they must have been some form of an ancient pagan religious ceremony. And little will they know they are EXACTLY right.

I'd like for this to happen within the lifetime of those who think they're big movers and shakers now so that they can whimper in their dotage about how big they used to be.

First he does Passion : Jesus Christ.
Then he can do Moses .... and other figures .... and he could clean up with a Revelations film that was biblically accurate.

Hutton Gibson wrote for the ati-Semitic magazine Spotlight in the 1950's. Are you saying that he was senile at 35?

Its severity and scope are in question, not its existence.
People run around screaming 6 million dead when in all reality, it could have been far less.
Thats all I was trying to convey, and it was in quotes due to that.
I am pro Israel and pro Likud.
So are most of the conservatives in this country.

Yep, me, too. Some sorta' Hollywood Dust Bowl hitting them, their last-of-the-Perrier and Caviar-laden jalopies slowly caravanning out of Hollywood, sunken-eyed former hollywood stars, withered fingers grasping their Oscars.
The Sour Grapes of Wrath.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of liars and w*ores.

5.1 million is the academic lowball figure. Eichmann and Goering both accepted the 6 million figure.
Hutton Gibson denies the existance of the Holocaust. He admitts that Jews died, but not that they are targetted to die.

Every time I have heard people complaining about his defense of his father, it's obvious they do not have a clue about loyalty. He may have to hear things about himself for defending his dad, but he doesn't have to live with these people. His dad will be family much longer.

You know what, Paul Harvey can say whatever he wants. I personally, specifically remember him telling the story over the AM dial. It was at least a year, maybe two years ago. I only remember two of his stories, one about Lucy Ball being chained as a child and that Mel Gibson story. No way in the world PH gave a different account (ie bar fight). I've never heard the story anywhere else, and it made me reflect at the time.
If it was an internet rumor, it made it onto his show. If it didn't happen (which seems now to be the case), I apologize for spreading rumors.

That's definitely "F U money." When you have that kind of money, you can tell even Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, "F U." Heck, Nicky Old Boy, I got myself $2.97 in my pocket and I'm telling them that.

That Cary Grant movie you're thinking of is The Bishop's Wife. It was later remade as the The Preacher's Wife, with Denzel Washington and Whitney Huston. The next remake will be The Minister's Life Partner, starring Nathan Lane, Harvey Fierstein, and RuPaul as the angel (j/k. Better not give Hollywood any ideas).

Hutton Gibson is an anti-semite, there is no doubt about it.
I heard his interview yesterday and it was bald faced in its stereotypical portrayal of the Jew as a "Pencil Pushing" leech who "Has to go where the money is"
I can't expect Gibson to denounce his father, but he's stuck between a rock and a hard place, I would want to change the subject as well.
Ironic that I heard the interview this morning on the Howard Stern show.
