That's one of the reasons why they went over, B, in
hopes us little ones wouldn't ever have to go.

(By the way, I was 2 years old at the time ...) So that would make you almost 4 now? We Were Soldiers was released in 2002.

Nice, almost a haiku but the number of syllables on the first line should be 5. May I suggest:
"J. F*ing Kerry,
We'd sooner trust our daughters
with Bill Clinton."

Yeah, I should have clarified my statement a little better. What I meant to say was that I was 2 years old when we pulled out of the Vietnam War.

I've seen "We Were Soldiers" several times. After we saw it at the theatre, my husband bought the DVD. Wow. What a movie, what character is displayed. I cannot even express my feelings about the portray Mel Gibson does of - and now I cannot remember his name. I'm tired, it's been a long and trying day today. Haven't seen The Passion yet, though.

We Were Soldiers was the first movie since the air cav scenes in Apocalypse Now that made my hands get clammy and my neck muscles get tense. Both brought back many memories of dusty hot LZs and three radios screaming in my ears.
Here is a link to the website of the unit I was in in RVN. Some of the crewmembers had the foresight to tape some of the actual missions as they occurred. The recordings will put old helicopter pilots on the edge of their seats.

GARRY OWEN =
U.S. 7th Cavalry Anthem, assigned to it by its Commanding General ARMSTRONG CUSTER after hearing his Irish Cav Troopers singing it
He liked it, so...
He left it in.
See: http://www.lzxray.com
GARRY OWEN is now the Anthem for the entire 1st Cavalry Division.
