Posted on 02/25/2004 4:47:28 AM PST by conservativefromGa

Senate debate on the gun manufactures liability bill will begin at 9:30 this morning on C-Span2. Expect Feinstein to attach her Assault Weapons Ban renewal rider on it. Also McCain may attach a rider closing the so called "gun show loophole". This is it folks.

OK, now this is getting silly. I agree that the firearm being on your property "should be enough" to protect you, but at present it is NOT. The amendment in this bill will protect you from litigation more than at present.

If you have evidence to the contrary cite it.

"When are these chowder-heads going to figure out that terrorist buy guns from illegal arms dealers."

They know that, they just don't say it because that would make it harder for them to get our guns. They can't safely take over the country without first eliminating the posibility of an uprising.

Senator Byrd is on right now.

I am watching him on streaming video on my PC with "Dixie" softly playing in the background.

The guy reminds me of Foghorn Leghorn!

He wasn't referring to the 2nd, he was talking about the amendments he was putting forth.

Your absolutely right. That's what is most frustrating about it. It's not about keeping people safe. It's not about taking guns out of the hands of criminals. It's about their own personal power. These guys are hell bent replacing "We the people" with "You the subjects".

Senator Byrd is on right now.

For the cubicle-bound, the Senator is wearing a tan single breasted suit coat, white shirt, solid maroon colored tie, and a really bright leopardskin patterned vest. Maybe it's real leopardskin.

This is a "trick" to get laws passed w/o really have to fully debate it.

Because they can, that is why. There is no rule or law keeping them from adding amendments that have nothing to do with the original bill. There should be, but there isn't.

Let them have it. It will take away the issue and provides bargening space for constitiutional legislators.
