[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

6. An "earthquake" measuring 5.3 was reported in SE Wyoming in early Feb. but the USGC has asked European agencies which monitor seismic activity to disregard it, as it was "actually" a mine shaft collapse. No mention in the media has led some to suspect it may have been some type of underground detonation - either testing of some sort, or possibly a venting of the Yellowstone caldera? 19:03 UTC, Feb 6, 2004. USGS records scrubbed, Berkley seismograph utterly bland.
Then the elk started dying...

Excellent. It should have been listed in that order.
I was telling a co-worker about all this today, and I watched his eyes grow wider and wider ... He's lurked here a time or two. I look for him to sign on soon.

I also found this in trying to educate myself (perhaps from the same page you found? howstuffworks?)
Unfortunately, C-4 will keep making headlines for years to come. Because of its stability and sheer destructive power, C-4 has attracted the attention of terrorists and guerilla fighters all over the world. A small amount of C-4 can do a lot of damage, and it's fairly easy to smuggle the explosive past light security forces. The U.S. military is the primary manufacturer of C-4, and it tightly guards its supply, but there are a number of other sources for similar explosive material (including Iran, which has a history of conflict with the United States). As long as it is readily accessible, C-4 will continue to be a primary weapon in the terrorist arsenal.

I was hesitating to post because I thought that it was too obscure. Just because these things make "me" paranoid, doesn't mean that I should share with others.....
