[history]
February 24, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has dispatched the elite commando force that hunted down Saddam Hussein to Afghanistan for a new operation aimed at getting Osama bin Laden, officials said yesterday. Military sources confirmed that members of the shadowy Task Force 121, the unit that conducted the high-tech search for Saddam and his henchmen, have recently begun operating in the remote mountainous region along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border where bin Laden and key al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives are believed to be hiding. The Task Force is made up of highly trained Delta and SEAL commandos, as well as CIA paramilitary operators. It operates outside normal military channels.

US to probe train vulnerability
Friday, March 12, 2004
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will probe to see if there is any specific threat to trains in response to the deadly bomb attacks in Madrid, but it has no plans to raise the color-coded threat level, officials said on Thursday.

Welcome back!
In hindsight, did you find any indicators specific to attacks on trains?
To: JustPiper
The interesting thing I heard on FNC this am is the group is an offshoot of AlQ and is the SAME group who claimed responsibility for the London and US blackouts! Of course you would be sharp enough to pick up on that. In fact, I remember you and I exchanged many thoughts and comments during the blackout. And yesterday when the so-called experts weren't giving credibility to the AQ group's claim to the Madrid bombings, the blackout was one of those things that came to mind. Here you have a group saying they did it, yet it's not enough to convince the authorities. Since OBL is on the run and probably isn't calling the shots, we're going to see more of these radical muslim terror groups that are sympathetic with AQ.

Body found in ship channel
By Janell Ross Caller-Times
March 12, 2004
A tugboat captain and a boat hand pulled the body of a man out of the ship channel Thursday night, police said.
Corpus Christi police have not identified the man but the boat hand told police he recognized him as someone who worked in the area and often ran on a barge for exercise.
The unidentified tugboat captain called police shortly after 8:30 p.m. and reported he spotted a body floating between two barges docked in a small industrial harbor in the 1200 block of McBride Lane. He awakened the boat hand who then helped him pull the man's body from the water.
It was unclear how long he had been in the water. He had last been seen at about 7 p.m. when he told co-workers he was going for a jog.
Investigators could not determine whether the man had fallen from the barge; at 10: 30 p.m. Thursday they had not ruled out foul play. The Port Authority has taken over the investigation.

They are looking forward to getting rid of the infadels, which is anyone who is not a Muslim. They may live in America, but their only allegiance is to the writings in their Koran.

Alleged spy for Iraq gave Lockerbie deposition
Former Democrat congressional aide was at center of CIA controversy
Posted: March 12, 2004
Former journalist and congressional press secretary Susan Lindauer, who was arrested yesterday on charges she acted as an Iraqi spy before and after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, came to the forefront of politics in 1994 over a controversial meeting she had with an alleged CIA operative based in Syria.
That meeting resulted in her giving a deposition in the Lockerbie bombing trial that suggested Libya was innocent of the bombing. The 1994 deposition received worldwide attention and led some to charge Libya was being framed for the bombing.

Thanks. This connection is SLOOOWWWW but at least I'm somewhat back!
Not in the Bin Laden tape. There were some indications:
1. In one communications arena, there were links to images of what appeared to be explosive devices connected to air vents on the ceiling of a train.
2. The two recent subway incidents, specifically the one in NYC and the one in Ottawa where something was thrown on the track, causing a fire and evacuation. I think someone was pulsing the system to see what the reaction would be.
3. The threats against the trains in France, and the discovery of one bomb under the track there.
4. The recent Moscow subway bombing
5. A series of posts involving the use of cyanide bombs, specifically mentioning their use on trains. Those postings were interesting in that they specifically instructed NOT to use them in train stations due to the presence of cameras, but to use them instead on trains. Those postings also referenced the use of those homemade devices in churchs, temples, hospitals, and office buildings, especially government office buildings. If I see anyone throw a can up in the air, I can promise you that I will be running as fast as I can UPWIND after reading those posts :( Frightening stuff.

Could "wind" also refer to a timeframe, with regard to March winds?

Thanks, SP. It is frightening stuff. There's been a heck of a job done here and elsewhere on connecting the dots. The problem is, ALL the dots connect, intersect and intertwine into a mass jumble.
They're coming, that's for sure.
I would guess that the hit here is scheduled after UK and Japan are hit. They are on high alert. We should be too.
